?? Deputy Manager – Residential & Dementia Care Home
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the day?to?day running of our residential and dementia care home. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure our residents receive exceptional, person?centred care in a safe, warm, and supportive environment.
? Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the overall management of the home, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and internal policies
- Leading, supervising, and motivating the care team to deliver high?quality, person?centred care
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and ensuring documentation is accurate, up?to?date, and reflective of residents’ needs
- Acting as a role model for best practice in dementia care, promoting dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement
- Managing staff rotas, allocating duties, and ensuring adequate staffing levels
- Supporting recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of staff
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, professionals, and external agencies
- Responding effectively to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in residents’ health or wellbeing
- Ensuring medication administration and management is carried out safely and in line with policy
- Taking responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager
- Contributing to quality assurance processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Helping maintain a warm, homely, and inclusive atmosphere where residents feel valued and supported

- Experience in a senior care role within a residential or dementia care setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a team
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem?solving abilities
- A solid understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and person?centred care
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving residents’ quality of life
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it)
