Part-Time Handyman / Maintenance Person

Location: Ashton Park Care Home – Newport, Gwent

We are currently looking to recruit a reliable and practical Part-Time Handyman / Maintenance Person to join our team at Ashton Park Care Home.

This is a permanent, part-time position working weekdays only, helping to ensure our care home remains a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your role will include a variety of general maintenance tasks around the care home, such as:

• General maintenance and minor repairs

• Basic decorating and painting

• Gardening and outdoor upkeep

• Carrying out routine checks around the building

• Supporting with small improvement projects

• Ensuring the premises remain safe and tidy

Requirements

• Previous maintenance or handyman experience is preferred but not essential

• Basic knowledge of general repairs and maintenance

• Driving licence preferred

• Reliable, practical and able to work independently

• Willing to complete online training as required

Pay and Hours

• Part-time hours

• Weekdays only

• Permanent role

• Pay rate meets National Minimum Wage, with rate subject to discussion based on experience and qualifications
