Job summary

At Black Swan Care Group, we are currently looking for a cook/chef to work in one of our residential care facilities, Potton View, on a full time, 48 hour permanent contract, £14.20 per hour.

Potton View is a private residential care home located in the tranquil village of Gamlingay, on the Cambridgeshire border with Hertfordshire. Designed to offer exceptional care in a serene countryside setting, this purpose-built care home provides high-quality accommodation for up to 31 residents—all on one level for full wheelchair accessibility and mobility support.

Responsibilities of a Cook/Chef:

  • Prepare residents meals and maintain a well-balanced nutritious diet (Taking into consideration special dietary needs and requirements as set out in Residents Care Plans, and residents menu choices)
  • Ensure food stock supplies are monitored and deliveries are correct, and all food are temperature probed, recorded, stored correctly and stock rotated.
  • Maintain a high standard of food preparation and implement the requirements set out by the Environment Health and Local Authority for the Home, the Food Safety Act 1990, and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2005. (Personal appearance must be of an acceptable level. Uniform provided must be worn, hair covered or tied back. Sensible enclosed non-slip shoes to be worn.)
