Guthrie House Care Home is located in Edinburgh’s Liberton area and provides nursing care for up to 88 residents.

What We Offer

• £14.90 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Working over 4 days
• Shift pattern 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Alternate weekend working
• Pension, Onsite parking, Paid PVG, Uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Whether it is preparing a freshly cooked meal, adapting dishes to suit individual dietary needs, or ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, the role you play here matters. You will help prepare and serve hot and cold meals, support menu planning, maintain food safety records, and ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.

What we’re looking for

You may already have experience working as a Chef or Cook, ideally in a care home or similar environment. A City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 qualification, or equivalent, would be beneficial, along with a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to organise your workload while maintaining high standards of food preparation and kitchen safety.
