Clean, fresh, staff very helpful. Impressed with St Margaret's. My friend's room, balcony and view is lovely. 2 visits from myself and Waffles the dog! One in room and 1 in garden bit! Had 3 years bad experience few years ago with my mother in a care home in Edinburgh I just wish mum had come to St

The staff were exemplary in every way, they showed gentleness, respect, and compassion to my very unwell friend and kindness in abundance to everyone around them. Staff have worked diligently & effectively to engage my mother despite her initial caution. She is so much more settled. The staff manage my mother's challenges remarkably well & she is now mixing with the other residents.
I have seen care being given by staff when they did not know they were observed
& it was compassionate & kind. The staff approach and attitude more than balance out the older facilities - that is a more than reasonable trade off in my opinion. My mother enjoys the food & sitting with other residents to eat.
N.B., My only lower score (value for money) is because I believe the cost of care homes is remarkably expensive.

I want to say a great big THANK YOU ,to the brilliant staff of Islay unit for making Valentine's Day so meaningful for my husband & I.
You sure are an amazing team of people, who show what personal-centred care is all about.
Thank you for taking my husband to collect the Chinese, he felt so valued,
and pleased that he was able to do something for me.
One of the carer's put a table cloth on the table in my husband room & a vases if flowers. Honestly you could manufacture this.
Once again to each & everyone of you, your all worth your weight in gold.
Thank you Cumbrae Lodge, again for showing your high standard of care & attention .

When my friend was taken ill the nursing staff gave exemplary care to him, placing his needs first. They managed the situation sensibly and responsibly, liaising with external medical professionals to make sure he had appropriate treatment. The surroundings and the food are great but it's the nurses
and carers who make the difference here. They care about each resident and make the effort to understand them and reach out to them.

More than happy with my dad's care. The staff are very helpful and attend to my dad's needs at all times of day and night. Management always available to answer any questions or quieries we may have. My sister has been a resident in the Churchill Unit at Gilmerton Care Home for now the past 3 years and our family's experience has been outstanding. Every family member who visits very consistently, says now highly they would recommend the care provided here.The staff are exceptionally kind, professional,
and welcoming, making each visit feel like coming into our own home. My sister is safe, happy and very well cared for which gives us great peace of mind. The environment is always clean and well maintained and the warmth, respect and compassion is shown to both residents and families, is truly commendable. Home is very welcoming. It is kept clean and warm. There is a choice of meals. Everyone is helpful and it seems nothing is too much trouble. My husband gets looked after well and his needs are full meet within the home.

My mum has lived in Cumbrae Lodge for just over a year. The unit set up is good for someone with dementia. Care home staff, and particularly staff on the unit, have been excellent. The home has fully met our expectations and my mum is significantly happier and more relaxed than she had been before moving
in.

My dad was moved in to care after a decline in his condition with Alzheimer's disease. He lost mobility, pieces of his memories (thankfully not of us), and his character.
The care he received in Guthrie House was, truly, outstanding. The staff genuinely cared. They took an interest in him, remembered
things about him, and us - our names and relationships. They brushed crumbs off his lap and tidied his hair. They sat with him and listened, and were patient and kind when he could be challenging or angry. They went on excursions, and flagged if they had concerns about his health.
When he declined further, they gave us space and privacy to be with him - offered us food, cups of tea, and hugs. When he passed away, he was cared for with respect, love and care. They recommended a Funeral Director with whom we had an amazing experience. Some of the staff came to his funeral.
Thanking them all for making a truly traumatic and heartbreaking period of our lives so much more bearable.

Always find the staff are courteous and helpful. They are always good at keeping me updated with any issues regarding my mum. The manager has an open door policy which I find very helpful and very good if there are any issues that need addressed.

Absolutely incredible staff, so friendly and caring, nothing is ever a problem. The home is clean, friendly and the staff make things fun. I couldn't be more happy with the care given to my mum. Thank you all.

Lovely staff providing great care in difficult circumstances. Took Dad in when others wouldn't due to his needs. So far we are very satisfied with his care. Home is kept very clean and rooms are always spotless,
