Job summary

Leighton Rose are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistants to join their team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. You will be responsible for supervising junior staff, assisting with care plans, and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in maintaining a positive atmosphere within the care home.

Duties

  • Supervise and support junior care staff in their daily responsibilities.
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Drive engagement activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation among residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
  • Provide emotional support to residents and their families during challenging times.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining care records and documentation.
  • A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Level 3 in Health and social care
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take the initiative when required.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be an advantage.
