Job summary
Head of Dementia Care Location: The Lakes, south cerney, GL7 5TL Salary:
£34,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 Hours per week ABOUT THE ROLE Are you a
care leader with experience working in a dementia care setting, with the
passion to make a difference? Can you lead a team of people to deliver
outstanding care to our residents living with dementia, by delivering
the highest quality care? Our care teams make a real difference every
day and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will
be at the core of everything you do. Working collaboratively with the
home management team, you will lead on and develop the provision of
person-centred care for our residents living with dementia to meet their
needs in sometimes complex situations and during times of distress. You
will take responsibility for the operational management of the dementia
households ensuring colleagues are competent and confident working
across all shifts through promoting best practice, providing guidance
and support. You will work closely with our residents to support them in
making decisions about their care and will work alongside our own
Admiral Nurses, outside agencies and our resident’s family, carers and
friends to plan and implement care that promotes independence and
wellbeing to ensure that our residents living with dementia continue to
live fulfilled and meaningful lives. The Lakes is a 64 bed Care Home
situated in South Cerney, Cirencester. The home offers Day, Respite,
Residential and Dementia care in a comfortable, homely setting. AND IN
RETURN As a Head of Dementia Care you will work to the Trusts Head of
Dementia Care Competency Framework and will receive ongoing professional
development and monthly supervision from the Admiral Nurse who will also
work alongside you during their regular support visits to the Home. The

QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care, or equivalent together with, or
willingness to work towards, a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership
and a proven track record of leading and managing a team in a dementia

organisational skills and a natural ability to get along with others. A
