Job summary
To plan, organise and deliver a wide range of meaningful individual and group activities that stimulate, engage and enhance the wellbeing of Service Users. The role focuses on promoting social interaction, independence, and quality of life by tailoring activities to meet the interests, abilities, and needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and coordinate a varied programme of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for Service Users.
- Provide both group and one-to-one activities that are stimulating, enjoyable, and appropriate to the needs, preferences, and abilities of individuals.
- Encourage participation and promote inclusion so that all Service Users have opportunities to engage in meaningful activities.
- Work closely with the Resident and Relatives Support Worker and Home Manager (as required) to ensure Service Users’ social and emotional needs are met.
- Liaise with residents, relatives, and staff to gather ideas and feedback for activities that reflect Service Users’ interests.
- Maintain records of activities, participation, and outcomes to support care planning and continuous improvement.
- Support Service Users to maintain independence, confidence, and social connections.
- Arrange special events, celebrations, outings, and community engagement opportunities where appropriate.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in a safe manner and comply with health and safety guidelines.
- Promote a warm, friendly, and inclusive environment within the home.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience in organising activities within a care setting is desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and encourage participation. Creative

- and organised approach to planning activities. Compassionate and patient attitude towards older people and individuals with support needs. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
