Job summary

As an Assistant Chef at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of food service and meal preparation within the home. 

About Ashlynn Grange Care Home: 
Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables. 

The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished cafe? is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.? 

About the role: 
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Assistant Chef will support the team by ensuring the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality. 

Salary: 
£13.37 per hour. 

Shift Pattern: 
30 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location: 
Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Providing a high-quality dining experience by promoting choice and dignity to the residents of the home with the services we provide
• Liaise with residents to ensure they are happy with the food and beverages being delivered within the home
• Ensure the nutritional content of the meals provided cater for the dietary needs of all residents.
• Assist the Head Chef with all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to. 

Training, Skills & Experience Required: 

• Minimum of two years catering experience working within a kitchen environment is essential.
• NVQ level 3 in Food Hygiene is essential.
• Exposure to working within a care environment is highly advantageous.
