Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you assist, following care plans and delivering personalised care tailored to each individual's needs. 

Duties

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
  • Support individuals in maintaining their independence while providing necessary assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Follow care plans meticulously to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
  • Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining care records and documentation is advantageous.
  • Experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is crucial for this role.
  • A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting residents as necessary.
