Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Hairdresser to join our care home team, providing high-quality hairdressing and nail care services to our residents. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older people and takes pride in helping them look and feel their best in a calm, supportive environment.

Location: Hyllden Heights, 140 Tonbridge Road, Hildenborough, Tonbridge TN11 9HJ

Hours: 35 hours per week

Pay: £14.49 per hour

Contract: Part-time - Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Shift: Days

What you will be doing:

• Providing hairdressing services for residents, including:
• Washing, cutting, styling, and setting;
• Gentle treatments suitable for elderly hair and sensitive scalps.
• Providing basic nail care services, including:
• Nail trimming and shaping;
• Filing and buffing;
• Application of nail polish (where appropriate).
• Maintaining excellent hygiene and infection control standards.
• Creating a relaxed, friendly, and respectful experience for our residents.
• Working sensitively with residents who may have mobility issues, dementia, or other care needs.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and well-organised.

What you need to succeed:

• Qualified or experienced hairdresser (NVQ or equivalent preferred).
• Experience with nail care is essential.
• Experience working with older adults or in a care setting is desirable (but not essential).
• Patient, kind, and professional manner.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices.
