Job summary
Fixed Term Contract until January 2027 As a key member of the DDaT team, the Server & Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in building, managing, supporting, and optimizing our data centre and cloud infrastructure.They will support the DDaT function through a responsive and proactive approach to all tasks, where quality customer service and satisfaction are paramount and assist with the continual development and improvement of the HC One platforms.
They will work closely with technology team members, colleagues within the wider DDaT team and third-party providers and provide transitivity between infrastructure, network and code and will work to ITIL standards and process to ensure security, continuity, back-up and recovery as well as outstanding service availability.
Ideally holding Microsoft Certifications to Associate level, or working towards, you have experience of delivering, managing and supporting innovative technology solutions within compute, storage and security domains, of adherence to technology standards, of incident and problem management within an ITIL framework and extensive technical knowledge of a wide range of technology, protocols, operating systems and standards.
You can build effective working relationships and collaborate ideas from multiple stakeholders and are able to communicate concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. You have creative problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach, a high degree of accountability, commitment, and responsibility, and are proficient in the provision of high-quality technology documentation and test plans.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
