Bearehill Care Home is a beautiful Georgian mansion in the charming town of Brechin, surrounded by tranquil gardens and scenic wildlife. The home provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 49 residents. With its sunny conservatory, sensory garden, freshly prepared meals and warm, homely atmosphere, it is a place where residents are supported to live well and feel truly valued.

• 35 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Second Chef, this role plays an important part in delivering high quality meals that contribute directly to residents’ wellbeing and daily enjoyment. Working within a care home environment, the role focuses on preparing nutritious, well presented meals that reflect individual needs and preferences.

Supporting the Head Chef, the role involves the day to day running of the kitchen, including meal preparation, menu support and maintaining consistent standards across all services. You will work with fresh ingredients to produce balanced meals, ensuring residents receive both variety and quality.

The role also includes maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety, monitoring temperatures, managing stock and supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen. When required, you will take responsibility for the kitchen, demonstrating strong organisation, reliability and a calm, professional approach.

What We Are Looking For

• City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience working within a professional kitchen environment
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive and caring approach, recognising the importance of mealtimes
