Job Type: Full-time (circa 36-40 hours per week, including some weekends)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and driven Deputy Home Manager to support the leadership of our well-established nursing home for the elderly in Bentley, Farnham.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who combines strong clinical knowledge with excellent organisational and people management skills. You will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and team performance, while fostering a positive and supportive environment for residents, staff, and families.

You will deputise in the absence of the Home Manager and be instrumental in maintaining quality care delivery and operational excellence.

Flexibility is essential, as the role may require supporting residents’ needs across both day and night when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in all aspects of daily operations and care delivery
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies
  • Lead by example by working on the floor alongside care teams
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop staff through supervisions, appraisals, and hands-on guidance
  • Contribute to personalised care planning and regular resident reviews
  • Assist with staff rota management and ensure safe staffing levels
  • Carry out audits, spot checks, and quality monitoring
  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (essential)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a nursing home environment
  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager (or similar leadership role) in a care setting
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and best practices in elderly care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for elderly and dementia care
  • The ability to make difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions
  • A compassionate but professional approach
  • Good IT and administration skills
  • Must be experienced using Person Centred Software
