Acorn House is a newly renovated 64-bed home situated in the centre of Nottingham, providing residential and specialist dementia care. The home is looking to find a new Senior Night Care Assistant to join the already fabulous team. You will be expected to support and care for the residents alongside supervising and inspiring all other team members.

The role;

  • Full-time, permanent contract
  • 38.5 hours per week on a rolling 6-week rota (12 hours shifts, 3 on 3 off, 8pm-8am)
  • £13.63 per hour, depending on experience and training
  • Nottingham-baseded, NG5 2AT

Your responsibilities as our Senior Night Care Assistant;

  • Uphold the exceptional standards and quality of care provided to residents, including personal care, following care plans carefully, etc.
  • Liaise with other care professionals relating to the needs of the residents
  • Always be alert to residents’ physical and mental well-being, making sure that any change in condition is immediately reported and recorded accordingly
  • Encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities appropriate to their likes and dislikes ensuring all social and emotional needs are met
  • Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying residents’ rooms, undertaking light cleaning duties and general housekeeping duties around the home as required
  • Helping to serve meals and drinks during meal times and when required, taking care to present these in an appealing way
  • Be an active and encouraging member of the care team, contributing to team meetings, induction and training of new staff, engaging and building relationships with residents, etc.

What we need you to hold as our new Senior Night Care Assistant;

  • Experience of working within a caring environment
  • Hold or be willing to work towards L3 in Health and Social Care
  • The ability to communicate well and make others feel welcomed and comfortable
  • Supervisory and leadership skills, with a strong ability to motivate and inspire
  • Willingness to develop new skills
