The opportunity

Castlemaine Care Home is a family-owned, specialist dementia care home with a genuine commitment to resident dignity and quality of life. We're looking for an experienced, values-led Registered Manager to lead our close-knit team - someone who wants to make a real difference, not just tick boxes.

This is a hands-on leadership role with operational autonomy. You'll shape our culture, drive quality, and be the person families trust to care for their loved ones. Unlike large corporate providers, you'll have the freedom to lead properly - with the support of owners who are genuinely invested in outstanding care.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading daily operations and your care team to deliver consistently high-quality dementia care
  • Overseeing person-centred care planning, ensuring each resident's individual needs are met
  • Maintaining full CQC compliance and preparing for inspections with confidence
  • Managing staffing, rotas, and resource allocation
  • Building trusted relationships with residents' families, GPs and external healthcare partners
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, professional development and staff wellbeing
  • Monitoring, auditing and acting on quality indicators promptly and transparently

What we're looking for

  • Registered Manager (or Deputy ready to step up) with experience in a nursing or dementia care setting
  • Solid working knowledge of CQC regulations and the Health and Social Care Act
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • Strong communicator who can build confidence with families, staff and professionals alike
  • Competent with budgets, staffing and the operational demands of a regulated care environment
  • Experience with medication administration (preferred)
