My sister, Anne has had multiple mental and physical health issues which the excellent staff at Coombe Dingle Nursing Home always dealt with professionally and great care and consideration. I know that Anne was a difficult patient, often declining the assistance she required, but that did not deter
the staff from providing the best care possible.
Reply from Samir Patel, Director at Coombe Dingle Nursing HomeThank you for your thoughtful feedback and for recognising the team's consistent care, patience and professionalism in supporting your sister, Anne, with her complex needs. We really appreciate your ratings across the different categories and will continue to build on this to further improve the experience for all our residents.

My mum was independent and did not want to leave her home despite numerous falls. Therefore in July 2024 it was a very difficult decision for her to go into Leighton House. In reality she never truly settled but she would not have settled anywhere. However the staff at Leighton House did all they could
for her - their kindness, patience, reassurance, dedication and love was clearly evident. Not only were they supportive to mum but also to me. I found the process of moving mum into a home very stressful but they were always there to re-assure me and give me a hug if I needed it. I visited often and no matter their job all staff would say hello and I felt part of the "family". It is a welcoming feeling when you go there which is so important as a home with dementia residents can feel daunting. My mum's behaviour was challenging at times but they kept me informed and helped me to deal with it. Sadly she died recently but it was very dignified and I will always be grateful.
Reply from Samir Patel, Director at Leighton House Private Nursing HomeWe are deeply sorry for your loss and thank you for your kind review - it was a privilege to care for your mother and support you both. We are so glad you felt part of the Leighton House family and I will ensure your heartfelt gratitude is shared with the whole team.

Leighton House has continued its loving care for my husband Jon, who has lately had a severe chest infection, raised by Taiek, who insisted he went to the hospital. There, he was put onto two types of antibiotics and oxygen. So there was a definite need for him to be there. Since coming home, they are
slowly but surely rehabilitating him, with care and attention. To see our Jon in this declining state from Alzheimer's is distressing for us, but it's softened by the care he has here.
Reply from Samir Patel, Director at Leighton House Private Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us a review - we are so glad Tarek's swift action helped your husband and that his recovery is progressing well. Providing your family with comfort during this difficult journey is our priority, and we really appreciate your feedback.

My Mum spent eleven happy months in Coombe Dingle.

The staff, Management Team and the Medical Team throughout the whole period were quite simply outstanding.

Caring, knowledgeable, understanding and always happy.

The staff at Castlemaine Care Home work very hard & are respectful and caring towards the residents, however, it seems at some times (for example weekends) that there are insufficient staff to adequately deal with residents! The home management look to provide new interests for residents ef the chickens.

My mum was a resident of a different care home prior to coming to Leighton House. Moving her was a difficult decision in case it stressed her even more, but as a family we were so glad that we did! The difference in care quality of support and the range of activities offered to her in Leighton House
was instantly noticeable and impactful. The level of communication between the home and us, the family, was excellent with the app easily accessible and regularly updated. We felt very confident and reassured that Mum's dementia needs were understood and being met and were very appreciative of the care given to her.
Reply from Samir Patel, Director at Leighton House Private Nursing HomeThank you for leaving us such a positive review! Dad is well cared for in the care home, the staff are always very friendly and always make you feel welcome. The staff always keep me updated if Dad is unwell or have any concerns.

his time as he was getting bored and felt isolated when he first arrived at the home.

Coombe Dingle provides the perfect balance, professional, caring, and personal. Set in a beautiful, accessible location with lovely gardens, the home is calm, clean, and welcoming. Staff are exceptional: warm, respectful, and compassionate. They treat my father with real dignity-some even call him "uncle,"
which he loves. They celebrated his birthday with decorations and care staff joining in. Communication with us is excellent and my father is now settled and comfortable. Given his condition, the team are doing everything they can. Improvements could include enhanced in-house physio and better showering facilities for those with limited mobility. Coombe Dingle has given us real peace of mind and I would fully recommend them to others looking for kind, dignified care.
