About the Role
We’re looking for a nurse-qualified Deputy Manager who brings both strong clinical experience and a natural, compassionate leadership style. This is a hands-on role , you’ll be closely involved in the day-to-day life of the home, supporting and developing the team on the floor as well as working alongside the Registered Manager to keep everything running smoothly.
You’ll play a key part in making sure residents receive safe, thoughtful, and personalised care, while also helping to lead the team around you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working alongside the Registered Manager to lead the home in a calm, supportive, and approachable way
- Stepping in to deputise when needed, ensuring continuity for residents, relatives and staff
- Using your clinical experience to guide, support, and mentor the nursing and care team
- Helping maintain high clinical standards, ensuring care is safe, responsive, effective, and always person-centred
- Being visible and accessible to residents, relatives, and staff , building trust and reassurance day-to-day
- Supporting with recruitment, induction, staff rotas, supervision, and appraisals to ensure the right people are in the right place
- Ensuring Ecare plans, clinical records, and documentation are accurate and meaningful
- Supporting investigations, safeguarding processes, disciplinaries and resolving concerns with sensitivity and professionalism
- Encouraging a positive, respectful culture where everyone feels able to contribute and grow
- Working with the wider team to continuously improve the quality of care and the experience of living and working in the home
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC registration
- Solid experience within a nursing home or similar care setting
- Experience supporting or leading a team (Deputy, Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead, or similar)
- A good understanding of CQC expectations and what high-quality care looks like in practice
- Strong documentation and communication skills
