Thomas Knight Care Home is a modern, rebuilt facility in a historic location in the heart of Blyth. Thomas Knight Care Home is a residential and nursing home in the area of Blyth, which can accommodate just under 55 residents.
Bedrooms are sizes and designs that exceed minimum standard requirements, and all are en-suite. There are multiple communal lounges, dining areas, bathrooms, showers, wet rooms, and toilet facilities across each of the three floors. The ground floor, Harmony Meadows now has a café and a cinema room
Nursing or personal care is delivered across three dedicated floors. The top floor which is called Auguste Community is mostly for persons living with a dementia or related syndrome. The ground floor Harmony Meadows is specialised general nursing provision.
The remainder of the service is on the middle floor. Trinity Retreat provides accommodation and care for a mixture of personal care needs for those with a dementia and those with no cognitive challenges but a degree of frailty. This floor also has a new rehabilitation kitchen and a reminiscence room
The Registered Manager and her close management team oversee the entire service. All staff will have received the appropriate induction and ongoing training for the aspects of care they deliver. Each floor has a dedicated team with named leaders and a selection of champions (staff who receive extra training and have a degree of responsibility for certain care topics i.e. medicines, wound care, nutrition etc).
There are working kitchenettes on the 1st and 2nd floor and the service provides a greatly enhanced Snoezelen room on the top floor. Auguste Community has recently added a 'café' and second lounge.
With an enclosed safe garden with smoking shelter and local shops right on the door step this is the perfect setting for a modern, care facility. It is fully staffed with nurses and carers and has a very high staff to resident ratio.

Placing a loved one into a care home is one of the most difficult decisions a family can make. However, from the moment we brought our Dad to Thomas Knight, the staff have been absolutely amazing. He is still a resident there to this day and is receiving excellent care. We cannot thank the team enough for their ongoing dedication; they constantly go that extra mile for all the residents in there.
Additionally we are incredibly pleased with some of the recent positive changes at the home, particularly Courtney taking the position of manager. She is exceptionally passionate about her role, treats every resident like family, and clearly makes their well-being her main priority.

It may not be the most modern building but the care for my dad is the most impotent thing and can't fault that.

I brought my friend up from Ipswich nearly 2 years ago to be nearer me when his health dictated that it was not safe for him to stay at home anymore. It was the best decision for my friend and myself because it gave me the peace of mind that he would get the 24-hour care that he needed which he received at Thomas Knight. I was very impressed with the calming atmosphere in the building. Every time I visited, sometimes unannounced, everything was always the same, with friendly and approachable staff. His room was always clean and he was cared for with professionalism and empathy. The staff knew my friend's needs inside and out and they were genuinely saddened by his passing, so much so, that many came to his funeral to say farewell. Finally, I take my hat off to the staff who cared for my friend. Their patience and expertise is amazing and I commend their fantastic commitment and dedication to the residents.

Her journey in care began as a Care Assistant in 2015, and through her dedication, compassion, and commitment to high standards of care, she progressed into Senior and Deputy roles before becoming Care Home Manager.
