The Role

This is a night nurse position, where you will act as the senior member of staff on duty, leading the care team and ensuring the safe, effective and compassionate delivery of care throughout the night.

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care within a safe, supportive and homely environment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating residents’ care, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met while promoting dignity, independence and choice.

During night shifts, you will provide strong clinical leadership, supervising and supporting Care Assistants, coordinating care delivery and responding to residents’ needs with confidence and professionalism. You will ensure effective communication and documentation, maintain high standards of safety and care, liaise with external professionals as required, and support residents and families with reassurance and expertise. Your leadership overnight is central to maintaining continuity of care and the wellbeing of residents at all times.

Requirements

  • You will need to be a professionally qualified Registered Nurse and hold a valid NMC Pin Registration.
  • Previous experience of nursing in a Care Home environment and knowledge of legislation and local authority is essential.
  • Previous experience of supervising a team of staff is also required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with our Residents, families and colleagues alike. 
  • All posts are subject to a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references.
  • Ability to act positively towards the implementation of change and promote the Homes’ philosophy and ethos, forming a positive relationship with residents and creating a homely environment.
  • Although it is no longer a legal requirement for staff working within CQC regulated Care Homes for Older Adult Care in England to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, in the best interests of our staff and residents, we have decided to keep it a mandatory requirement to work for our organisation. Therefore, we will need proof of your COVID Vaccination pass.
