On the whole my husband is well looked after sometimes he has not been changed often enough but once I mention it they are always there to help. For someone with dementia, there isn't a lot of mental stimulation, a lot of the activities are for people who do not suffer from dementia. The rooms and communal
areas are always kept very clean and laundry is done on a daily basis. Three monthly reviews are not done on a regular basis and have to be requested.

Staff welcoming, care home always looks clean and is warm. Food well cooked. Not worried about safety or security. Activities could be more person specific or one to one interactions. More feedback on patients health and treatments would be appreciated.

The care my mother has received at St Rita's has been excellent. We chose the home because we liked its ethos, and from the moment you arrive the staff are always warm and welcoming. The rooms are good size, comfortably furnished and feel homely rather than institutional. Meals are served in the dining
room, giving residents the chance to eat together and socialise. Communication with staff has always been good, providing updates on request. Plenty of activities for residents as well as organised outings. Most importantly, the staff are caring and take time to understand each resident and their individual needs. We like that it is not solely a home for people with dementia which help create a more balanced and supportive environment.

All the staff are extremely polite, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and they provide some very good entertainment and activities. The chefs produce some excellent and quality menus and I have enjoyed every meal. I love sitting in the garden and looking at all the surrounding countryside
and wildlife.

As I visit my friend once a week I have no experience of the activities provided although sometimes she entrusts to me about something like a visit from the singers. I also cannot comment on a safety security or value, for money as I am not privy to these things. The staff are always friendly to me
when I visit and my overall impression is that my friend is very happy in this care home.

My mother entered St Clare's in May 2025 when she's had Alzheimer's for around 6 years. She was 90 and was beginning to get bouts of pneumonia. We chose St Clare's because it was beautiful- lovely views, decor, layout, easy access for her family we were all so grateful for the tender, thoughtful care
that she received. She died in March her last year of life spent at St Clare's was full of love, laughter, good food and the care of the excellent team. We'll always be grateful.

Dad has been at St Rita's for 15 months now and is very settled. He has benefited greatly from the outside space. The indoor space is good for Dad's pacing. Dad takes part in all the activities and various outings and we are grateful for the stimulation he receives from these. Recently, I had to tell
Dad of a family bereavement and we were both well supported during this. All Dad's needs are met promptly and thoroughly. I recently enquired about a bird table for outside his window. The next day one was in situ for Dad to enjoy. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident for just over a year. St Rita's is a very welcoming and caring place to live. I am welcome to visit at any time and all the staff are very kind and supportive. They are always happy to discuss my mum's needs and have been very active in managing her medicines and pain management
with the Doctor. I feel that St Rita's cares about my mum.

St Rita's was recommended to us by a former care worker and is better than I could have hoped for. Choosing when to move Mum into care was difficult, but choosing where was easy. It was the only care home we visited that we actually liked. Every member of staff is a friend and visiting is a pleasure.
Mum has been a resident for the past six months and I am very grateful to all of the staff for everything they do. Thank you.

A warm and caring environment, with fantastic staff that are very professional at all times. Many of the staff have been here for a long time which speaks for itself. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the residents are happy in their home. We are always welcome if we wish to join relatives for a
meal and we can help ourselves to tea/coffee when visiting - it really is a wonderful care home.

My mum is being exceptionally well cared for by the staff at St Rita’s. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are all so friendly and resident focused. Mum feels that the staff have become friends and feels very safe and secure here. Mum’s room is spacious and kept spotlessly clean, she is very
happy with it. All in all a fabulous care home, run by an extremely caring and dedicated management.
I cannot fault a thing and am delighted that my mum is staying here.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.611)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.611) out of 10 for St Rita's Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.636 for St Rita's Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.636
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Rita's Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
