I cannot praise the care St Rita's gave to our Dad whilst he was at St Rita's. Dad was not only cared for exceptionally well, but he was also loved. All the staff, the facilities, the activities and surroundings are second to none. Thank you.

The resident is a 95-year-old, deaf and disabled lady who couldn't get out and spent all day watching TV.
She had no relations, I have been shopping and checking on her for the last 14 years. She now enjoys activities and outings, has people to talk to most of the time, is enjoying life doing things
she never attempted before and doesn't want to return home. Well done, thank you.

My wife, who suffers from vascular dementia, has been resident in St Rita's since early 2014. During that time I consider she has been very well looked after, and cared for through one or two bad patches. At all times I have been made aware of any problems with her health and general well being.

My elder son and I visited 10 local care homes seeking a place for my wife.
St Rita's Care Home (Augustinian Care) has proved to be outstanding in every way.
It is like a 5-star hotel.
The only minor criticism is the food.
My wife can't eat normal food so has to have soft food.
What is served is
the same main course every day for lunch and supper.
An alternative would be welcome.

The residents are encouraged to treat the nursing home as their home. All the rooms are ensuite and the residents can do as they wish to the room to make it their own home.
The home is spotlessly clean and never smells pungent.
The staff are friendly helpful and efficient and always have time to
spend with residents or their families and always follow up requests from the resident or their family.

My mother has been at St Rita's for two months now and I can only sing the homes praise. It is clean, bright, airy, spacious and has no lingering smells. The maintenance man was/is extremely helpful. The staff all present well, are bright and cheerful and quick to accommodate my mother's needs. (She
cannot walk and needs a wheelchair). The activities provided keep her busy through the day. After each visit I still come away with a smile, pleased that she and I are both happy that she is under their care.

My mum was at St Rita's from February 2016 until the time of death in August. Her care was first class with no request too small and every care made to accommodate her wishes. She was treated with great compassion and her dignity maintained. Her dementia prevented her being overly grateful, but we,
her family, cannot express our gratitude often enough. We were all so lucky that St Rita's had a place for her when she needed it so desperately. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum has been at St Rita's for two years and I have nothing but praise for the care she has been given. All the residents are treated with care, kindness and compassion. It doesn't matter what time of the day you visit, the staff are welcoming and friendly. My mum's condition fluctuates and she is
often anxious and upset about her confusion, but the staff are always reassuring but not patronising. Mum has her hair done by the hairdresser every week and always appears well groomed and looks well. We are all very grateful to St Rita's for their exceptional care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.611)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.611) out of 10 for St Rita's Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.636 for St Rita's Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.636
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Rita's Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
