St Philips & St James Residential Home is seeking a Care Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This rewarding role involves providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and promoting the well-being and dignity of our residents.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and can communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.

St Philips & St James is a family-run care home, founded in 1988.

We cater for elderly people and have 31 rooms

We pride ourselves in providing excellent person-centred care and ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect. We were rated outstanding at the last CQC for the care we provide to residents

We value our staff and encourage them to develop in their roles and provide the training and support to do so.

Responsibilities & duties

1.  Provide high-quality personal care to our residents.

2.  Promote residents’ dignity, privacy, beliefs and values at all times

3.  Follow care plans and deliver person-centred, compassionate care (6 C’s)

4.  Respond promptly to emergency calls and seek assistance when required

5.  Ensure residents’ rooms in a clean, safe and tidy condition

6.  Support residents to access community activities and facilities

7.  Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues

8.  Carry out delegated duties as directed by line management

9.  Maintain confidentiality when liaising with staff and residents’ families

10.  Welcome visitors courteously and follow security procedures

11.  Comply with health & safety policies and attend mandatory training
