We are seeking a dedicated and clinically confident Deputy Manager to join our team at Vyrnwy Nursing Home a respected nursing home providing high-quality care for adults with complex health needs.

This is a dual-role position combining frontline nursing responsibilities with clinical leadership and managerial support. You will be a key figure in both the day-to-day care of our residents and in supporting the Home Manager with governance, compliance, and operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities:

Hands-On Clinical Leadership:

  • Work regular shifts as a nurse on duty, delivering direct clinical care to residents and overseeing day-to-day clinical operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support Nurse, Nurse Assistants and Care Assistants to maintain excellent nursing standards.
  • Ensure all residents receive person-centred, safe, and dignified care tailored to their individual needs.
  • Oversee medication administration, clinical documentation, risk assessments, and care plan reviews.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor, acting as a clinical role model and first point of escalation for staff and families.

Deputy Management Responsibilities:

  • Support the Home Manager with audits, clinical governance, CIW compliance, and overall service quality.
  • Contribute to recruitment, rota management, staff development, and training.
  • Assist in managing complaints, safeguarding processes, and liaison with external professionals.
  • Provide leadership and continuity in the absence of the Home Manager, helping ensure the home runs smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN.
  • Previous experience in a nursing home as a Senior Nurse or Deputy Manager.
  • Strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of nursing home compliance standards and best practice care delivery.
  • Commitment to a resident-first, dignified approach to nursing and care.
  • A Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
