Job Description:

Bank Care Assistants for days and nights (zero hour contracts) 

Belvedere House Care Home, Chesterfield, are recruiting for Bank Care Assistants! If you are interested in either working days or nights, please keep reading!

These are 12 hour shifts working from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am (with a 1 hour unpaid break).

Duties:

- Provide personal care and support in a compassionate and respectful manner

- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions (Seniors only)

- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided

- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature

- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment

- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary

- Engage in conversation and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being

- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up living areas and doing laundry

Skills:

- Previous experience in a similar role is required along with administering medication.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Empathy and patience when working with elderly individuals

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR

- Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
