We currently have a vacancy for a relief domestic/kitchen assistant to come and work with our great team.
This is a relief role with no set hours per week.
This role does involve shift work between the hours of 7.30am and 18.30pm, as well as weekend working.
Main aims of the domestic assistant role
· Carry our all cleaning duties as directed
· Ensure the daily and deep clean schedules are adhered to.
· Ensure all cleaning/kitchen equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in safe condition, reporting any defect to the Home Manager.
· Comply with COSHH regulations
· Ensure the correct use of PPE
· Be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of our residents
· Ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily.
· Ensure trolleys are restocked at the end of your shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy.
Main aims of the kitchen assistant role
- To follow a set menu
- To keep the kitchen clean and
tidy
- To be aware of the special diets that may be
required
- To work alongside your colleagues to cater for
special events taking place within the home
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals set out on the set menu
- To undertake a
range of tasks associated with food preparation
- To work with
the head cook with the baking of cakes for afternoon tea if
necessary
- To keep accurate record, receiving, rotating and
inventory of products and regulatory
compliance.
- To
ensure that the kitchen cleaning rota is adhered to at all times and
that the kitchen is
hygienically clean and the floor mopped when
necessary
- To assist the Head Cook with the ordering of
supplies if requested to do so
Qualifications, skills and Experience
· Have good written and verbal communication skills
· Have good judgement, problem solving, and decision making skills
· The ability to work flexible hours to meet the business needs
· Effective time keeping and time management
· Have a genuine interest for older people
* Be willing
to participate in National Vocational Training Programmes
*
Food and Hygiene training
* HACCP level 2 desirable but
not essential, training will be provided.
* NVQ level 2
· The ability to work effectively within a team environment
