Danesbrook House is a home away from home, offering a homely, clean and warm modern interior that is staffed by a team of friendly care professionals, which are all registered with Social Care Wales.

Danesbrook House carers fully understand residents personal requirements, and deliver person centred care, to help the residents enjoy personal freedoms, comfort and relaxation, while taking pride in high standards designed to achieve long-term health benefits.

The home and staff takes the security, health and nutrition of its residents very seriously, stands up for dignity, respect and privacy and is up-to-date with the challenges of looking after adults diagnosed with dementia.

In 2019, the home extended the dining room and main lounge areas, making them bright and airy, with two sets of double doors opening into the garden. This extension work also added two extra bedrooms, one of which has French doors leading to a small court yard and the other opening out directly into the garden. Seven other ground floor rooms are also overlooking the garden.

For the summer of 2022 the garden was transformed into a multi-purpose area that has a lawn surrounded by a tropical mixture of plants in raised beds, with built in sun seating and a lovely shaded area under the pergola. The garden also boasts a contemporary water feature and is framed with a levelled resin floor which makes it easily accessible by the residents and their families when visiting.

My friend is settling down well at Danesbrook House and she seems very happy there. Whenever I visit (try to visit weekly) I have found all staff very welcoming and friendly. There is a cheerful caring atmosphere and it makes me feel reassured that my friend is being looked after well.

Very nice home, comfortable. Food is good. Staff very friendly and helpful. I like doing jigsaws, which is my hobby. I have been here a few weeks and am quite happy.

My mum has been at Danesbrook for about 5 months now and has settled in really well. The house is always so clean and I am very impressed by all the activities they do to prevent people sitting in their chairs all day with the TV on. The staff are very friendly and kind and the garden is beautifully
kept and a nice space to have. It is great to have the flexibility on visiting times and be included in some of the activities they put on. It is definitely a relief to find such a warm place where I know mum is well looked after and safe.

I have found the staff at Danesbrook House to be very friendly, courteous and helpful at all times. They have made sure my cousin has all her needs met, keeping her clean and tidy with dignity maintained. My cousin enjoys the food provided and mostly joins in with activities laid on. Her room is comfortable,
clean with en suite. She has a lovely view of the well-kept garden from her window too. We are able to visit her at any time and always find a pleasant atmosphere.

10 out of 10. Lovely and homely, not too many residents so everyone familiar, even for residents with dementia. Same staff rather than too many changes so excellent at understanding individual residents' needs. The residents are happy, content and a very calming environment.

Mum has been at Danesbrook for about a year, and when visiting I have always found the staff very friendly and caring to the residents and visitors alike. Mum is well looked after, and any concerns we have are dealt with promptly.
There are lots of different activities for the residents to join in
with, if they wish, such as gardening, cooking, music, birthday etc, which is great. Danesbrook use social media to keep family up to date with what's going on in the home. It is reassuring to see mum joining in and enjoying the activities.

I am very happy with the care that my mum receives at Danesbrook . From the outset ( Aug 2024) we chose Danesbrook for the personal care rather than the building/facilities.
Mum has a lovely room which opens onto the garden and this garden area is a wonderful place for her to enjoy. There are activities
that she can join in with if she chooses and all staff are very respectful towards mum.
Mum is very happy at Danesbrook and I feel she is safe, secure and well cared for. The staff are exceptional in the care they provide and they truly 'know' mum. This is what matters and reinforces my belief that she is in the best place.
Communication is good and we are contacted when there are any health issues or concerns. I highly recommend Danesbrook to others looking for a place where their loved one is cared for with understanding and kindness.

Mum has been at Danesbrook for about a year. We had checked out quite a few care homes in and around Cardiff, but the moment we walked into Danesbrook we were struck by what a loving and caring atmosphere the place has. This is clearly down to the staff and management, who all work so brilliantly as
a team to make everyone feel as safe and cared-for as possible. The residents are well fed and catered for, with plenty of activities and visiting guests to keep them occupied during the week, and the rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily. We also thoroughly appreciate the central garden area, which is well-designed and maintained. When it came to deciding where to place Mum, the choice was easy, as we are totally confident that she is as safe as possible, and really well cared for.

Mum came to Danesbrook initially for respite but settled in extremely quickly, thanks to the very welcoming, caring and professional staff. Nothing was too much for her to feel at home. Her room is always kept immaculate and her care needs always receive prompt attention. Her social interaction has
benefited hugely and she enjoys the many activities/entertainment she shares with other residents. With only 25 residents, it has that home-from-home feeling. No restriction to visiting times is extremely helpful to families and staff are always approachable and helpful too. As a family, we know Mum is happy, safe and fed well at Danesbrook and it's lovely to see her being introduced to new skills and companionship.

I couldn't be happier with the care Mum is receiving at Danesbrook House. Mum has dementia and at home had become extremely anxious and disoriented. Thanks to the patience, compassion and professionalism of the staff Mum has settled well and is now happy and content.The facilities at Danesbrook House
are very clean, welcoming and well thought out. Mum particularly likes spending time outdoors in the lovely enclosed garden.

My mother has resided in Danesbrook since April 2023.
She is very comfortable and happy, and feels secure. Catering is excellent with a good deal of variety to suit all tastes.
Danesbrook is excellently run, all the staff are approachable, friendly and professional.
There are plentiful well run
activities, you're encoraged to join in, although it's not compulsory to participate of you don't want to. Nobody is forced to do anything they don't want to...."it's their home"
Overall, delighted with all aspects of Danesbrook.

My Mam started at Danesbrook House on respite, and has been a permanent resident for two weeks. I had done my research beforehand, and Danesbrook has lived up to my expectations.
The staff and management are kind, caring and approachable, and I have seen how they treat the residents as individuals,
according to their different needs and personalities.
Danesbrook provides a wide variety of activities, so there is something for everyone, and residents can join in, or not, as they choose. Coupled with the social interaction with other residents and staff, this has meant that my Mam has settled in quicker than I could have hoped for.
Danesbrook is clean and well maintained, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. They offer a varied menu throughout the week, with lots of tea, coffee and biscuits. The welcome also extends to visitors.
I live away, but have the peace of mind of knowing that my Mam is safe and happy, as that is exactly what I see when I visit each week.

This really is a home from home, so friendly and welcoming, and the staff are second to none. Nothing is too ever much trouble, and my grandma always speaks so highly of the staff and also of the food which is freshly cooked every day.

My mum attended Danesbrook House for 6 weeks respite care. I was quite anxious about her going there as we have looked after her at home for 10 years. She has Alzheimer's which is slowly getting worse with very short term memory loss and declining health. I could not be more happy with the care she
has received. All the staff, from managers to cleaners are absolutely wonderful with Mum and indeed all the residents. Their care goes above and beyond, it is personal, respectful and very professional at all times but above all the residents and Mum are very happy. Lots of different activities every day so not all just sat in a chair with the TV on. Food is excellent and tailored to individual preferences. I am fully informed if anything is required or if they have any concerns. I could not be happier with Danesbrook - well done to home manager and her team for making this a home from home, will definitely use their services in the future.

Hi, my name is Rhian Kirk, and my role here at Danesbrook House is as activity Co-ordinator. I have been working here for 4 years and what I enjoy most about my job role is the variety it brings, and the positive atmosphere provided. My job is fun, exciting and most importantly rewarding.


I provide an assortment of entertainment for our residents including daily exercise sessions, sing-a-longs, crafts, quizzes and much much more.
We also have outdoor entertainers come into the home ranging from singers to games afternoons.


I really feel part of this team and thoroughly enjoy working with my peers.
