View Full Details of Danesbrook HouseMum has been at Danesbrook for about a year. We had checked out quite a few care homes in and around Cardiff, but the moment we walked into Danesbrook we were struck by what a loving and caring atmosphere the place has. This is clearly down to the staff and management, who all work so brilliantly as a team to make everyone feel as safe and cared-for as possible. The residents are well fed and catered for, with plenty of activities and visiting guests to keep them occupied during the week, and the rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily. We also thoroughly appreciate the central garden area, which is well-designed and maintained. When it came to deciding where to place Mum, the choice was easy, as we are totally confident that she is as safe as possible, and really well cared for.
Mum came to Danesbrook initially for respite but settled in extremely quickly, thanks to the very welcoming, caring and professional staff. Nothing was too much for her to feel at home. Her room is always kept immaculate and her care needs always receive prompt attention. Her social interaction has benefited hugely and she enjoys the many activities/entertainment she shares with other residents. With only 25 residents, it has that home-from-home feeling. No restriction to visiting times is extremely helpful to families and staff are always approachable and helpful too. As a family, we know Mum is happy, safe and fed well at Danesbrook and it's lovely to see her being introduced to new skills and companionship.
Very happy with care received and the environment.
We have been very happy with the care my mum has received since moving into Danesbrook 4 weeks ago. She is much happier and healthier and the staff are incredibly patient and understanding of her dementia and memory issues.
I couldn't be happier with the care Mum is receiving at Danesbrook House. Mum has dementia and at home had become extremely anxious and disoriented. Thanks to the patience, compassion and professionalism of the staff Mum has settled well and is now happy and content. The facilities at Danesbrook House are very clean, welcoming and well thought out. Mum particularly likes spending time outdoors in the lovely enclosed garden. Thank you to everyone involved in Mum's care.
My mother has resided in Danesbrook since April 2023. She is very comfortable and happy, and feels secure. Catering is excellent with a good deal of variety to suit all tastes. Danesbrook is excellently run, all the staff are approachable, friendly and professional. There are plentiful well run activities, you're encoraged to join in, although it's not compulsory to participate of you don't want to. Nobody is forced to do anything they don't want to...."it's their home" Overall, delighted with all aspects of Danesbrook.
My Mam started at Danesbrook House on respite, and has been a permanent resident for two weeks. I had done my research beforehand, and Danesbrook has lived up to my expectations. The staff and management are kind, caring and approachable, and I have seen how they treat the residents as individuals, according to their different needs and personalities. Danesbrook provides a wide variety of activities, so there is something for everyone, and residents can join in, or not, as they choose. Coupled with the social interaction with other residents and staff, this has meant that my Mam has settled in quicker than I could have hoped for. Danesbrook is clean and well maintained, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. They offer a varied menu throughout the week, with lots of tea, coffee and biscuits. The welcome also extends to visitors. I live away, but have the peace of mind of knowing that my Mam is safe and happy, as that is exactly what I see when I visit each week.
I do not live nearby, but whenever I visit I always find the staff most friendly, kind and helpful. It is very reassuring to feel that my mum is being well looked after in a caring and well-organised environment.
This really is a home from home, so friendly and welcoming, and the staff are second to none. Nothing is too ever much trouble, and my grandma always speaks so highly of the staff and also of the food which is freshly cooked every day.
Excellent care home with wonderful staff.
My mum attended Danesbrook House for 6 weeks respite care. I was quite anxious about her going there as we have looked after her at home for 10 years. She has Alzheimer's which is slowly getting worse with very short term memory loss and declining health. I could not be more happy with the care she has received. All the staff, from managers to cleaners are absolutely wonderful with Mum and indeed all the residents. Their care goes above and beyond, it is personal, respectful and very professional at all times but above all the residents and Mum are very happy. Lots of different activities every day so not all just sat in a chair with the TV on. Food is excellent and tailored to individual preferences. I am fully informed if anything is required or if they have any concerns. I could not be happier with Danesbrook - well done to home manager and her team for making this a home from home, will definitely use their services in the future.
I am happy with the care provided for my mum.
The staff at Danesbrook House are excellent. Very caring, attentive and looking after mum very well. She is very settled which puts my mind at rest. I would highly recommend the care home, they go above and beyond.
My mother was a resident at Danesbrook House for almost two years she passed away 4 weeks ago aged 98. I cannot thank Danescort for all the care that the staff gave her. It is a wonderful care home set in a beautiful garden. I would recommend the home to anyone. I will miss visiting.
My sister has been at Danesbrook House Care Home for two years and she loves it and feels the care couldn't be better. Because my sister has lots of foods she doesn't like, the cook goes through the menu plans for the week and discusses other options for the food she does like. The food my sister describes as excellent. There are lots of activities arranged though my sister doesn't always take part as she likes to return to her room after lunch she's always encouraged to join in.
Mum came to Danesbrook House after moving from four different hospitals from a broken hip. I looked at quite a few care homes but Danesbrook House met her needs. My first impression when I went to visit was it was clean, calm and friendly. Residents look happy and contented. Mum has been there nearly three months and has settled really well, enjoying the social interaction. The staff are kind, caring and friendly which has helped to settle her in. Nothing seems too much trouble and the management team too are approachable, very helpful and friendly. I know Mum has 24-hour care and most important, Mum is happy there.
My mother has been at Danesbrook for four years. I cannot praise the staff enough. They are always very friendly with visitors, offering tea and coffee. They treat my mother with dignity and respect. The activities and food are very good too.
My mother was residing at Danesbrook House from January 2023 until August 2023. She was very happy there, the staff were kind, caring and well-trained and went above and beyond on many occasions to ensure that the residents were comfortable and felt loved. The management team were very approachable and available. I was devastated when my mother had to transfer to another care home (because she needed nursing care). I wish that she could have stayed at Danesbrook House.
I always feel confident that my Dad is safe and looked after. All the staff interact with him as much as possible. They help him whenever he needs help and never make him feel he is a problem. I trust the staff to make decisions in dad's interests.
My mum was admitted to Daresbrook House in June. After visiting several other homes the family decided that Danesbrook House met with my mum's needs. The venue is smaller, it has fewer residents and displays a more intimate setting. A huge plus point would be the garden. It helps my mum enormously and she loves tending to the many plants and flowers and also encourages her active exercise regime. All staff members appear caring, attentive and capable.
