Kitchen Assistant

Job summary

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our welcoming catering team in Woodmansterne, Banstead.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 28 hours per week across four 7-hour shifts. Shifts are a mixture of early and late starts and include every weekend working.

Shift patterns:
• Early: 07:30 to 14:30
• Late: 11:15 to 18:15

About the role
You’ll support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and ensure residents receive a positive dining experience every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys teamwork and wants to make a real difference in a care environment.

Key responsibilities
• Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organised, including washing up
• Following food hygiene and safety standards
• Helping to serve meals and clear away afterwards
• Supporting the catering team as needed

What we’re looking for
• Previous kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable, hardworking and proud of a job well done
• Comfortable working a mix of early and late shifts, including weekends
• Food hygiene awareness (training provided)
