Job summary

We’re growing our team and looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join us at Lister House. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), worked across 5 days on a 7-day rota.

As Head Chef,  you’ll lead and coordinate all aspects of our catering operations, delivering nutritious, high-quality meals in line with agreed standards and budgets. You’ll manage a dedicated kitchen team, maintain a strong focus on food safety and efficiency, and ensure an outstanding dining experience for all residents.

What you’ll need:
  • City & Guilds 706 (1&2) in Food Preparation
  • Level 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking, Culinary Arts, or equivalent
  • Level 3 First Aid at Work certification
  • Proven experience catering for individuals with specific dietary needs (e.g., IDDSI texture modified diets and allergens)
  • Strong leadership experience in a similar catering role
  • Experience catering for at least 100 people
  • Budget management skills
  • Confidence using online ordering systems and digital finance tools
  • Familiarity with digital Food Safety Management Systems
