We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Hairdresser to join our care home team covering a period of maternity leave, where you’ll provide high?quality hairdressing and nail care services to our wonderful residents. Hours: 35 hours per week

Pay: £14.49 per hour

Contract: Full-time/Maternity Cover (starting 10 June 2026)

?? What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll create a relaxing, respectful experience for residents while offering:

Hairdressing services, including:

• Washing, cutting, styling, and setting.
• Gentle treatments suitable for elderly hair and sensitive scalps.

Basic nail care, including:

• Nail trimming, shaping, filing, and buffing.
• Applying nail polish where appropriate.

You’ll also:

• Work sensitively with residents who may have mobility issues, dementia, or other care needs.
• Maintain excellent hygiene and infection control standards.
• Keep your work areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Help create a warm, friendly atmosphere where residents feel valued and pampered.

? What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Qualified or experienced hairdresser (NVQ or equivalent preferred).
• Essential experience with nail care.
• Experience working with older people or in a care setting (desirable, but not essential).
• A patient, kind, and professional manner.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices.
