Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our friendly care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. You should have a passion for cooking, an understanding of special diets, and the ability to work efficiently in a caring environment. Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential.

Key skills:

• Ability to prepare nutritious, balanced meals for older adults
• Knowledge of special diets (e.g. diabetic, low-salt, soft/pure?e diets)
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
• Time management and ability to cook for multiple residents
• Attention to detail and consistency in food quality
• Teamwork and good communication with care staff
• Compassion and awareness of residents’ needs
