Job summary

J OB PUR P OSE:

As the Hospitality & Housekeeping Supervisor, you will lead the housekeeping and hospitality team to maintain high standards across the home. You will be responsible for overseeing cleanliness, laundry, and the dining experience, while supporting and developing your team. You will manage rotas and day-to-day operations, ensuring the home is well presented and that residents’ comfort and well-being remain the priority at all times.

·  Minimum 2 years’ experience as Front of House Staff

·  Appropriate professional presentation at all times

·  Previous supervisory experience

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

House keeing Management

·  To be a highly visible point of contact for residents and visitors

·  Using the resources available, ensure the homes are displayed to their best at all
times - internally and externally

·  Manage the housekeeping and laundry staff rota according to policy.

·  To complete daily walk arounds on each unit at the start of each shift and allocate
duties to your team in accordance with priority to meet requirements.

·  To take personal responsibility in ensuring all beds are made up correctly each
morning and checks made throughout the day

·  To ensure all rooms are fresh, free from odour, clean and tidy and free from clutter.

·  To ensure all lounges and communal areas are clean, inviting and free from odour and clutter at all times.

·  To delegate workload fairly across all of your team

·  To take responsibility to ensure allocated work is completed to the highest standard within given timescales.

·  Attend Head of Department meetings as required

·  Assist the Home Manager in the management of the admission process, ensuring all bedrooms are ready and fit for occupancy in accordance with the pre-admission assessment.

·  Liaise with the catering manager in ensuring residents are receiving fresh drinks and
food throughout the day

·  Manage the dining experience, ensuring the environment is conducive to a pleasant experience for all residents.

·  Assist with meeting and greeting visitors.

·  Create and maintain cleaning regimes (daily, weekly, periodically) for all areas of the
Home (excluding those maintained by Kitchen Staff), in line with the
Company's attention to detail philosophy and ensuring strict infection control
measures.

·  Ensure the home is presented to its’ best on all occasions and is free from odour

·  Assist staff daily in ensuring all bedrooms are clean and tidy, including making beds,
removing rubbish, watering plants, drawing curtains etc. as needed.

·  Ensure empty rooms are managed and presented as "show rooms" at all times

·  Conduct random audit checks of all areas of the Home (excluding those
maintained by Kitchen Staff), at appropriate intervals, to ensure cleaning has been
properly carried out and ensure empty rooms are managed and presented as "show rooms" at all times.

·  Continuously assess the work of all Staff Members to ensure consistently high standards.

·  Liaise with the Home Manager regarding the effectiveness of cleaning products, and
ensure their safe storage.

Dini n  Room I Meal se rv ice:

·  To familiarise yourself and all serving staff with the dietary requirements of all residents dining in the dining areas by meeting with the home managers weekly and updating related documents.

·  To ensure the dining areas are always presented to the highest standard and are set out appropriately for meals and any engagement events.

·  To liaise closely with the Catering Manager and Chef to ensure all meals are always delivered to residents on time

·  To take responsibility for ensuring the presentation of meals to residents is always of the highest standard

·  To meet with the Catering Manager/Chef daily to ensure the menus are as advertised and ensure the administration team accurately display the correct menus on all display mediums

·  To ensure all residents are offered choice and the choice cards are given to the kitchen in good time

·  To provide residents with refreshments on the floors each morning, including hot beverages, cakes, and biscuits, served via a trolley.

·  To ensure all residents are offered cut, fresh fruit or a fruit smoothie each afternoon
as part of their afternoon tea choice

·  To check the fridges in the units daily to ensure stock is replenished and is in date

·  To ensure all residents, especially those with special dietary requirements, i.e. diabetics, are catered for during engagement events.

·  To liaise with the catering manager to ensure birthdays and special events are catered for appropriately.

Laundry :

·  Ensure all residents’ clothing is being labelled/named on admission and as necessary by the
laundry team

·  Ensure residents’ clothing is laundered and returned without delay

·  Ensure staff respect residents’ clothing and ensure clothing is laundered as per garment instructions to prevent damage to clothing

·  Ensure residents always have adequate clean clothing

·  Ensure all bedding and towels are fresh and clean at all times

·  Ensure all residents items of clothing are identifiable/named

Communic a tion :

·  To build excellent relationships with staff, residents, visitors and management

·  To always represent the Company in a professional manner

·  Arrange / participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.

·  Keep up to date with Health & Safety issues

Budget a ry / F i n a ncial Control :

·  Liaise with the Home Managers when ordering cleaning products and ensure the finance director has an order list by a set time and day each week.

·  Undertake weekly stock checks.

Staffing:

·  To complete the staff rotas according to policy and within the set staffing budget

·  To ensure there is always sufficient staff on duty to cover the needs of the home

·  To complete supervisions and appraisals as per Company policies.

Tr aining & D eve lopm e nt :

·  Liaise with the Home Managers regarding COSHH training.

·  Supervise and instruct junior and new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Nursing Home, giving help and guidance where appropriate.

·  Arrange and complete induction programs as required.

·  Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

·  Maintain professional knowledge and competence in food hygiene, infection control
and health & safety

·  Adhere to the Homes disposal of waste policy.

·  Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.

·  Understand and ensure the implementation of the Homes Health and Safety
policy, and Emergency / Fire procedures.

GENERAL:

·  Complete monthly audits and issue related managed action plans according to audit
schedule.

·  Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not
divulged to third parties as per the GDPR Policy.

·  Notify the Home Manager or the Person in Charge as soon as possible of you
inability to report for duty, and on your return to work from all periods of
absence.
