Established in 1954 and now celebrating over 70 years of Care, Hill House Care Home is part of a third-generation family-run small group of Care Homes based in Surrey. Specialising in twenty-four-hour Nursing and Personal Care for older adults and supported by a skilled team of Registered Nurse Managers, Hill House provides a high standard of Nursing Care to meet the changing requirements of each resident.

Well located in a beautiful, leafy location in Kenley, the larger of the group's two homes offers a welcoming and lively atmosphere, accommodating up to 60 residents.

Founded in 1954, Hill House was originally a family home and has been wonderfully maintained with a purpose-built extension in 1990, as well as an extensive refurbishment in 2014. With ongoing developments, contemporary décor and a light and spacious environment, Hill House offers a real home-from-home setting and continues to meet the highest possible standards.

The CQC Registered Home Manager and the Clinical Lead manage Hill House with daily hands on input from the owners. There is a full catering team preparing delicious home-cooked meals for residents, led by a head chef, as well as in house activities and entertainment coordinators who plan regular events to suit the residents.

Hill House was awarded Care Home of the Year in the 2022 Gold Standards Framework awards and is accredited with Platinum status for End of Life Care, and was awarded Top 20 Small Care Home Group in the 2023 Carehome.co.uk awards.

Nursing fees are also inclusive of the NHS Funded Nurse Care contribution of £254.06 per week. If a resident is eligible then this will be deducted from the prices listed.


Sundries, such as: hairdressing; chiropody; physio; external activities; and newspapers, are at an additional cost.

Hill House has been an unexpected blessing for our family, providing exceptional care for my father in his time of need. The management and therefore the atmosphere among the staff is very positive and professional. The activities co-ordinator organises entertainment that bring joy, the kitchen provides
home cooked well thought out dishes that cater for all needs. Most of all these people really do care. Great rooms and my Dad's had a lovely garden view.

My mother was transferred to Hill House from hospital for end-of-life care. This was my first experience of care homes, but whilst not having a benchmark to measure against I can say that my mother was treated with the utmost dignity. The facility is clean, tidy and the staff are excellent and my mother
was always made comfortable. We were able to get my mother out into the garden which she loved.
The food was excellent and tailored to my mums likes.
I'd like to pass on my personal thanks to the manger of the home who was very supportive.
The staff and the location made my mothers stay there far more bearable and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I've not been able to comment on the activities as my mother wasn't able to take part in them, but looking at the activities on the board that I saw, there was plenty to keep the residents occupied.

From the moment my Father arrived, both he and our family were treated with respect and dignity. We became part of your family. Every need was met, and you even helped arrange transfer of some of his furniture/belongings to make his room feel like home. There were always plenty of staff on duty and

My sister came to Hill House in January this year with much anticipation and fear of the unknown, as someone with learning disabilities any new transitions can be difficult. The staff especially the manager went above and beyond to settle her in and soon got used to her ways. She wasn't always the easiest
of residents but staff soon put her at ease and generally spoilt her rotten. The last month or so as her health deteriorated more and she became more frightened and agitated but this still did not deter the staff from giving her 100% care. Her passing in July was met with so much love, compassion and dignity, which I will truly never forget. If I could give Hill House 100 stars that still would not be enough.

Thank you for your outstanding care of my aunt. This care began in December 2020 and ended on June 20th. Not only the care of her as a resident but myself as her next of kin.
The tea and cakes provided as a wake in the dining room were beautiful. A collection of photos relating to her time at Hill
House were placed in the room and everyone was warm, kind and sensitive.
Hill House exudes love and treats each person with respect to those who often feel alone and vulnerable at a stage of life few are prepared for.

Having worked as a GP in the area for over 35 years when my aunt came to need nursing care my knowledge of the care provided over the years to many of my patients meant that the decision to ask Hill House to care for her was a no-brainer.
As a family, we were not disappointed. The care and love given
to my aunt was exemplary, she perhaps was not the easiest person but the staff learnt her ways and this contributed so much to her experience at Hill House. When she reached 100 all the staff helped us put on a lovely party for her which was very special.
My aunt's passing was made very comfortable, she was always treated with great respect and my family and I will always be grateful.

My mother was transferred to Hill House for end-of-life care. She was extremely frail on admission and her needs were assessed immediately and a care plan developed. Her care there on was truly outstanding. All the staff were highly professional in addressing her personal needs she was always clean
and comfortable. The staff also demonstrated excellent communication skills both with mum and the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble from providing refreshments to arranging a bed to stay over during her last few days.

It takes a very special group of people to create the right energy to take care of the elderly and the sick. Hill House has this and so much more!
My mum was so attached to her life and home but at 91 and after so many falls it became urgent to meet mums needs in new ways. From the minute she walked
in the door at Hill House Care Home, she and I were held and supported and totally taken off in every way.
It’s an extraordinarily emotional time as a parent ages and this is the first time I as her daughter and Mum have been through this process. We feel we have been treated with the utmost kindness and respect.
The family run vibe is apparent in all the staff who are truly lovely genuine people.
Every child would want their parent to be taken care of this well, when the time comes and Mum, within a week of being here, wants to stay. I feel so grateful to all the staff at Hill House. God's angels for sure.

Hill House has been our late father’s home for the past five years. When you first enter Hill House the pleasant, friendly atmosphere is all-pervading. We were reassured that each time we said our farewells, we knew that our father was among caring people, a special additional family for him. The manager
is masterful at choosing staff who give of their best, keen to boost morale and well-being, so they ensure residents are treated as individuals. Our father was encouraged to join in with activities and we loved to see the monthly newsletter photos of him joining in. We would certainly recommend Hill House.

Hill House Care Home provided excellent care for my father.
He was provided with all the medical support he needed in a friendly and homely environment.
He was extremely ill when he arrived there from hospital but picked up with the attention he received.
He was able to spend his last months surrounded
by warmth and a family atmosphere. We were able to visit him every day and were always made to feel extremely welcome. The staff are wonderful and as it is still run by the same family who started it originally there is a very personal feel to the service provided.
Nothing is too much for them and they sorted out everything for us. The residents are looked after physically and emotionally. My family and I are so relieved we found Hill House.
I would strongly recommend this nursing home.
