Established in 1954 and now celebrating over 70 years of Care, Hill House Care Home is part of a third-generation family-run small group of Care Homes based in Surrey. Specialising in twenty-four-hour Nursing and Personal Care for older adults and supported by a skilled team of Registered Nurse Managers, Hill House provides a high standard of Nursing Care to meet the changing requirements of each resident.

Well located in a beautiful, leafy location in Kenley, the larger of the group's two homes offers a welcoming and lively atmosphere, accommodating up to 60 residents.

Founded in 1954, Hill House was originally a family home and has been wonderfully maintained with a purpose-built extension in 1990, as well as an extensive refurbishment in 2014. With ongoing developments, contemporary décor and a light and spacious environment, Hill House offers a real home-from-home setting and continues to meet the highest possible standards.

The CQC Registered Home Manager and the Clinical Lead manage Hill House with daily hands on input from the owners. There is a full catering team preparing delicious home-cooked meals for residents, led by a head chef, as well as in house activities and entertainment coordinators who plan regular events to suit the residents.

Hill House was awarded Care Home of the Year in the 2022 Gold Standards Framework awards and is accredited with Platinum status for End of Life Care, and was awarded Top 20 Small Care Home Group in the 2023 Carehome.co.uk awards.

Nursing fees are also inclusive of the NHS Funded Nurse Care contribution of £254.06 per week. If a resident is eligible then this will be deducted from the prices listed.


Sundries, such as: hairdressing; chiropody; physio; external activities; and newspapers, are at an additional cost.

I have just left Hill House after seven weeks of rehabilitation following a major accident. I needed nursing care and initially provision for all of my needs as I was immobile. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience and my observations of the care of other residents. Every aspect of care was
exceptional. I was treated with respect, warmth and received the highest level of skilled care. I was able to observe that this applied equally to all residents whose individual likes and preferences were catered for with kindness and good humour. It was obvious that the staff and owners care enormously about the health, well being and happiness of the residents and in every way go the extra mile to make them safe, happy and comfortable. This is a care home providing an extremely high standard of care in all aspects. The food was good. In addition, the building is well appointed with comfortable single rooms and has a smart dining room, beautiful conservatory and lovely gardens.

What can I say but a huge thank you for the wonderful care and dedicated attention my Mum had throughout her stay at Hill House. When she arrived there we did not think she would last 2 weeks - but 16 years later she finally gave in and in all her time there the staff have been wonderful, caring and
supportive. The activities and entertainment that staff lay on are extremely good. The catering team will do their best to find out what food the residents like. They do two large events each year to which family and friends are invited, as well as afternoon teas and outings. Her end of life care was second to none. I was allowed to stay with her at the home until the end and was treated with great compassion. The whole team was very considerate. All members of the staff seemed very fond of Mum and would come in and say goodnight as their shift ended. She was lovingly cared for in a tender and professional way. I cannot thank each and every one of the staff at Hill House enough for their support over the many years through all of the ups and downs of Mum's care.

My father has been at Hill House for a little over a year and I have been very impressed with the care and facilities. He was in a very bad way when he moved in and, though still frail of course, is hugely much better both physically and mentally. I think most people will have had experience of "carers"
who just do necessary tasks and move on, but I have to say I can't think of a single member of staff I have met at Hill House who has been like that - they all seem actually to care, in all senses of the word.

My uncle recently spent a short time at Hill House. The care that was given, not only to him but to all of the family was second to none. The hospitality we received as visitors was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. From the moment I entered on my first visit to when I had to clear my mum's room, the staff were all amazing. My mum was bed-bound for two years at home before I finally gave in and moved her to a home... I wish I'd done it sooner! They had her sitting
in a chair and engaging with everyone on day two. I'd go so far to say they gave me my mum back for the three months before she passed away. Even then, they didn't rush me to clear the room and helped me when I did do it.
I always felt as though all the staff genuinely care for the residents; they all know everyone and get to know visitors as well (which is helpful when your mother has dementia and can't remember if anyone has been to see her!). My mum always looked cared for and was the happiest I have seen her in a while.
I felt so guilty of moving my mum to a home, but Hill House helped me to see it was the best thing I could have done for her. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident of Hill House now for 3 years; she will be 92 next month. As a family, we can say without hesitation that the standard of care provided by Hill House staff and managers continues to be extremely high. Mum is treated with a great deal of dignity, care and respect by all
the staff. They freely offer smiles and a friendly chat with the residents and always offer us a warm welcome when we visit. They are keen to involve us in a wide variety of events and activities. We particularly value the attention to detail paid by key workers who go to considerable lengths to help Mum to choose clothes which go well together just as she would have done herself. When we have asked occasionally for something to be changed in Mum's care routine the staff have been very responsive and understanding. It is hard to find anything to criticise and we believe that Hill House thoroughly deserves its continued high reputation.

I absolutely recommend Hill House Care Home and am so relieved that we chose here to care for my mum in her final weeks. The care they provide is exemplary, and every single member of staff are a credit to their profession. They provided help and support for me and my family and made all of us and my
mum feel very much at home. There are lots of activities, the food is excellent and the rooms are lovely. The garden is beautiful. Anything we wanted or needed was provided and always with a smile.

My wife's Mother and my Mother in law was welcomed to Hill House on the 10th of December to be cared for with a terminal illness, the staff cared for her around the clock and were extremely kind and supportive to all of us, it was a stressful time but the staff and management did their best during that
difficult time, sadly Mum passed away on the 3rd of July 2019, we are so glad we chose Hill House, Mum loved it there and spoke highly of the staff it made the whole experience easier to cope with knowing the support was there if we needed it, we cannot praise or thank them enough for their kindness and care and would recommend Hill House to anyone, all we can add is thank you all.

My mother is very happy at Hill House. The staff are kind, and the facilities are excellent. There is entertainment in the lounge most days. Today she was 'Resident of the Month' and we were treated to afternoon tea for the whole family, with mum at the head of the table, she was presented with flowers

My mother was in Hill House for over 3 1/2 years. In that time we saw her treated with the utmost care, patience and kindness. She felt safe and secure there. We could see ourselves how well she was being looked after and felt very happy leaving her in their hands. She very much enjoyed the view from
her room and also liked to sit in the garden. There was a lot of entertainment laid on and this was greatly appreciated. She seemed to enjoy most of her food, which had a lot of variety and was always nicely presented and served. As visitors, we were always treated with kindness and respect and always offered refreshments. Towards the end of her life when more nursing and care was required the staff were exceptional - she loved them and they seemed to love her.

My mother has been at Hill house for over 3 years in which time I have got to know the lovely staff and seen their dedication and commitment.


We are always greeted with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. We were so lucky to have a lovely tea party for mum this weekend which was organised by

the staff. It was beautifully presented and brought a tear to us for all the thought which had been put into this.


Couldn't be more grateful for the continued care for mum with genuine care and love. Lots of hugs and always there to reassure her when her moods are low.
There are always lots of activities to try and engage all residents who are able.
It's so good to know that mum is in good hands and we couldn't thank you all more.

My mother has been resident at Hill House for over three years. During this time, the care that she receives has only ever been of the highest quality and it is for this reason that she is so happy to call it home. Management, nursing and care staff are excellent, very approachable and always available.
In all areas, staff are professional, respectful, diligent and cheerful which makes for a very happy and homely environment. Meals are varied and plentiful, served by an excellent hospitality team, with family and friends always made welcome. The resourceful activities team provide daily occupation/entertainment which my mother always enjoys. For us as a family, it is extremely reassuring to know that mum feels safe, secure & content and all the staff must take credit for this being so. I can thoroughly recommend Hill House if you are looking for the best.

I do not know what we would have done without the caring, compassionate support of all the staff at Hill House over the last year. They tackle each issue as it arises with professionalism and a warm, caring attitude that makes the fragile situation my dear aunt is in more bearable. We are so grateful
