Established in 1954 and now celebrating over 70 years of Care, Hill House Care Home is part of a third-generation family-run small group of Care Homes based in Surrey. Specialising in twenty-four-hour Nursing and Personal Care for older adults and supported by a skilled team of Registered Nurse Managers, Hill House provides a high standard of Nursing Care to meet the changing requirements of each resident.

Well located in a beautiful, leafy location in Kenley, the larger of the group's two homes offers a welcoming and lively atmosphere, accommodating up to 60 residents.

Founded in 1954, Hill House was originally a family home and has been wonderfully maintained with a purpose-built extension in 1990, as well as an extensive refurbishment in 2014. With ongoing developments, contemporary décor and a light and spacious environment, Hill House offers a real home-from-home setting and continues to meet the highest possible standards.

The CQC Registered Home Manager and the Clinical Lead manage Hill House with daily hands on input from the owners. There is a full catering team preparing delicious home-cooked meals for residents, led by a head chef, as well as in house activities and entertainment coordinators who plan regular events to suit the residents.

Hill House was awarded Care Home of the Year in the 2022 Gold Standards Framework awards and is accredited with Platinum status for End of Life Care, and was awarded Top 20 Small Care Home Group in the 2023 Carehome.co.uk awards.

Nursing fees are also inclusive of the NHS Funded Nurse Care contribution of £254.06 per week. If a resident is eligible then this will be deducted from the prices listed.


Sundries, such as: hairdressing; chiropody; physio; external activities; and newspapers, are at an additional cost.

My review of Hill House is exceptional. The general manager made us feel welcome and showed us a variety of rooms. My mother loved the view from her room. Everything was spotless. There was a choice of menus at mealtimes, and she loved the food. Everyone we met was kind, efficient and courteous. Visitors
were made very welcome. The atmosphere was warm, peaceful and caring. Mum enjoyed a variety of afternoons and activities and appreciated the church services. She was extremely happy and said that they all looked after her very well. Great kindness and compassion was expressed when she passed away. This is an outstanding care home.

Mum was a resident at Hill House for 7 years exactly. We were very lucky because she was accepted although she did not speak one single word of English. The staff managed to communicate with her really well and whenever they could not understand her, which rarely happened, they would call me to talk
to her. I have only words of praise for Hill House and all the staff. Until the lockdown I used to have lunch with Mum in the dining room and the food is amazing. Mum's room was always beautiful clean and cheerful, her clothes looked after really well, and she was always immaculate. The activity program they offer is fantastic and Mum and I loved the celebrations with all the great hospitable catering. During the lockdown, I was so impressed how the home was not affected which show how well it is run. The summer is wonderful in the garden with the staff bringing tea and cakes. The carers and nurses gave her so much love and attention which she appreciated. Thank you to everyone.

Our Mum was a resident at Hill House for three and a half years and for a couple of times for respite prior to this. It was her choice to move into Hill House, as her health failed her, as they had been so kind during her stays for respite. All the staff were so kind and attentive and Mum enjoyed her
stay. She used to go down to the dining room each day and also joined in the weekly art class, which she enjoyed. During the Covid situation things became very difficult but the staff were great, arranging video calls so we could keep in contact. They also arranged art projects that she could do in her room.
I would highly recommend Hill House, the rooms and facilities are excellent and the staff go above and beyond to make the residents lives as fulfilling and comfortable as they can be.

Mum was a resident at Hill House Care Home for 8 years. She was well looked after throughout her stay and the staff were always friendly and amenable. Initially, it was lovely to be included as part of the home when we came to visit, enjoying afternoon tea in the garden or dining room. During lockdown
that became impossible but the staff did their best to ensure we maintained contact with our mum. Mum's room was bright, cheerful and clean. The home was regularly being refurbished so that it always looked pristine. The gardens were well kept and in good weather the residents were taken out to enjoy the fresh air. The activity programme was stimulating and we were kept regularly informed about what was going on through their monthly newsletter. Mum enjoyed the special celebrations that took place throughout the year and the special fuss that was made of her on birthdays with lovely food provided by the catering team. I would definitely recommend this home.

Mum was a resident of Hill House Care Home for 5 happy years. The staff, in all aspects of the running of the home, have been warm and welcoming, making a homely atmosphere for residents and their families. The quality of medical and emotional care provided has been excellent. Mum benefitted hugely
from the social activities organised and also enjoyed the special celebrations, with their hospitable catering. It has been particularly impressive to see how well the pandemic has been managed over the last 2 years and it has been reassuring to know that she was being protected and cared for so well. Hill House is extremely well managed and there has been an ongoing programme of ‘home improvements’ during the time Mum has been a resident, all of which have kept the home fresh and updated. We will always be grateful for what the team at Hill House have done for Mum and us as a family and so I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My Father has resided at Hill House Care Home for over four years. Right at the beginning, he was welcomed into the Hill House family. He felt it was his home immediately, and he always said that it was like being on holiday.
His care by everyone there was most kind and respectful. Every day in the
resident's lounge there were activities to entertain and amuse. The dining room was always laid up so beautifully for breakfast and lunch, and the residents were waited on hand and foot, and treated with huge respect and love.
The support by the staff at Hill House was absolutely wonderful and very caring throughout some difficult and sad times.
We would like to thank everyone for their care of dad, and we will miss being part of "The Hill House Family".
Finally, we would not hesitate in recommending Hill House for the care of your loved ones.

My mum died last week at 98. Sad, but the care, and love, she had was excellent. Near the end she was in bed most of the time, but before that she enjoyed quizzes, which she often won. She didn't like getting old and frail, but she agreed that Hill House Care Home was wonderful.

My father has been at Hill House Care Home since April 2021 for palliative care (he has terminal cancer). In what has been an awful year for both me and him (his wife/ my mum died suddenly) the team at Hill House have been dedicated to making sure he is comfortable and pain-free. He has his home comforts
around him like his computer and a mini-fridge, and they really can’t do enough to take care of him, including accommodating the different things he likes to eat day to day. I get to spend quality time with him knowing he is safe and well looked after. Everyone is always friendly (saying hello) and the atmosphere feels warm and supportive. Thank you to the team at Hill House!

My mother, a 98-year-old, has been in Hill House since November 2019 at all times 24 hours
a day she has received wonderful care carried out in a friendly efficient manner. Food is excellent, the home is kept very clean, all members of staff are helpful and considerate of her continued needs. She
suffered a heart attack early on the morning of Friday 18th June, the response from staff was swift and caring. The ambulance took her to hospital where she passed away early evening. I thank everyone at the home all contact with me has been helpful, friendly and professional at all times since November 2019. I will miss my visits to the home.

My mum was a resident at Hill House from February 2020 to October 2020. Mum had Alzheimer's and other health conditions, which the staff at Hill House managed extremely well and treated Mum with dignity and compassion. Mum and the family were always made welcome by the staff at Hill House and were
very attentive and caring. Even during her end of life care, they not only looked after Mum but my brother and me. They kept us informed and supported us, the GP made time to talk to us to ensure our wishes were adhered to and that all end of life medicines were in place. Even during Covid-19 restrictions, the staff always made it possible for us to see Mum in the garden or through a window adhering to current guidelines. The manager goes above and beyond her duties supporting the family and residents. Her dedication, conscientiousness in her work and professionalism is a real credit to Hill House and the residents. As a family, we would not hesitate to recommend Hill House.

My father passed away at Hill House Care Home, Kenley on the 7th February 2021, I feel impelled to write about our experiences in order for people to feel comforted when the difficult decision regarding care for loved ones occurs.
My father had been in Hill House since December 2019 with late onset
Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia, from the beginning the care/support and love from all the nursing staff was exceptional. On the outset of the pandemic, every effort was made to retain the close, caring, family atmosphere which was of such value to the visiting family, outdoor visits were permitted and sheltered visits during the cold weather (adhering to strict protocol) at no time was this ever discouraged or presented as difficult.
The manageress of the home is an exceptional woman and her character and care is reflected throughout the staff.
The last few days of my father's life were handled with extreme dignity and support, this is an exceptional nursing home, thank you.

My husband had Alzheimer's since 2010, this year he was in and out of hospital, he stayed at Hill House for only two weeks before he died of pneumonia. I couldn't have wished for a better home, the staff were so lovely they made him comfortable to the end and after. I told the manager the staff weren't
just doing their job, they really cared. I can't thank them enough.

Ieva is a proud member of the Administration team and has the pleasure of being the first point of contact when visitors step through the doors. She began her journey here as the Home Administrator in 2018 and now serves as the Marketing/Sales & Admin Lead. This role has provided her with invaluable experience across diverse areas. She is enthusiastic about taking the lead on social media initiatives, and ensuring the website content remains current and engaging.
