My aunt's passing was made very comfortable, she was always treated with great respect and my family and I will always be grateful.

We were worried that Mum would find it difficult to move into a nursing home for palliative care, but we needn't have been. The staff and manager of Hill House were very caring and considerate. The time they all took to make Mum feel comfortable and the friendly support they provided was much appreciated.

My mother-in-law was a resident at Hill House for over two years and despite being compromised with her illness, she seemed happy there. I always felt the staff cared about her and knew her well and that she was treated as an individual. The whole team were always friendly and helpful whenever I went to visit and I am very grateful for the care that was evident.

My sister-in-law spent only 6 weeks at Hill House Nursing Home receiving end-of-life care but during that time experienced excellent and compassionate attention from all staff involved in her care. She remarked on several occasions that she felt safe and happy at Hill House for which her family have been extremely grateful.

Took great care of my mother. They are always there to help her. The lovely garden was kept clean. Helpful staff - very friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. Would recommend this care home.

My mother was transferred to Hill House for end-of-life care. She was extremely frail on admission and her needs were assessed immediately and a care plan developed. Her care there on was truly outstanding. All the staff were highly professional in addressing her personal needs she was always clean and comfortable. The staff also demonstrated excellent communication skills both with mum and the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble from providing refreshments to arranging a bed to stay over during her last few days.

Please don’t hesitate to bring your loved one her.

Hill House has been our late father’s home for the past five years. When you first enter Hill House the pleasant, friendly atmosphere is all-pervading. We were reassured that each time we said our farewells, we knew that our father was among caring people, a special additional family for him. The manager is masterful at choosing staff who give of their best, keen to boost morale and well-being, so they ensure residents are treated as individuals. Our father was encouraged to join in with activities and we loved to see the monthly newsletter photos of him joining in. We would certainly recommend Hill House.

My review of Hill House is exceptional. The general manager made us feel welcome and showed us a variety of rooms. My mother loved the view from her room. Everything was spotless. There was a choice of menus at mealtimes, and she loved the food. Everyone we met was kind, efficient and courteous. Visitors were made very welcome. The atmosphere was warm, peaceful and caring. Mum enjoyed a variety of afternoons and activities and appreciated the church services. She was extremely happy and said that they all looked after her very well. Great kindness and compassion was expressed when she passed away. This is an outstanding care home.

Everyone at Hill House is so kinf and take great care of our mum. Their compassion and treatment toward our mum helps her to keep her dignity. The staff are also very good to us all as a family. The extra services provided are amazing. We are very happy for our Mum to live here knowing she is safe and all her needs catered for.

Very comfortable stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very helpful medical help, especially the nurses. Plus all the carers and staff.

Good care with close care individual consultation. Excellent food with adequate vegetarian options. Excellent laundry though I have had occasional panties in my trousers! Lost a few socks. Excellent medical care with prescribed drugs given when required. Excellent entertainment. Overall, an excellent care home that I shall miss.

Mum was a resident at Hill House for 7 years exactly. We were very lucky because she was accepted although she did not speak one single word of English. The staff managed to communicate with her really well and whenever they could not understand her, which rarely happened, they would call me to talk to her. I have only words of praise for Hill House and all the staff. Until the lockdown I used to have lunch with Mum in the dining room and the food is amazing. Mum's room was always beautiful clean and cheerful, her clothes looked after really well, and she was always immaculate. The activity program they offer is fantastic and Mum and I loved the celebrations with all the great hospitable catering. During the lockdown, I was so impressed how the home was not affected which show how well it is run. The summer is wonderful in the garden with the staff bringing tea and cakes. The carers and nurses gave her so much love and attention which she appreciated. Thank you to everyone.

I would highly recommend Hill House, the rooms and facilities are excellent and the staff go above and beyond to make the residents lives as fulfilling and comfortable as they can be.

Mum was a resident at Hill House Care Home for 8 years. She was well looked after throughout her stay and the staff were always friendly and amenable. Initially, it was lovely to be included as part of the home when we came to visit, enjoying afternoon tea in the garden or dining room. During lockdown that became impossible but the staff did their best to ensure we maintained contact with our mum. Mum's room was bright, cheerful and clean. The home was regularly being refurbished so that it always looked pristine. The gardens were well kept and in good weather the residents were taken out to enjoy the fresh air. The activity programme was stimulating and we were kept regularly informed about what was going on through their monthly newsletter. Mum enjoyed the special celebrations that took place throughout the year and the special fuss that was made of her on birthdays with lovely food provided by the catering team. I would definitely recommend this home.

Mum was a resident of Hill House Care Home for 5 happy years. The staff, in all aspects of the running of the home, have been warm and welcoming, making a homely atmosphere for residents and their families. The quality of medical and emotional care provided has been excellent. Mum benefitted hugely from the social activities organised and also enjoyed the special celebrations, with their hospitable catering. It has been particularly impressive to see how well the pandemic has been managed over the last 2 years and it has been reassuring to know that she was being protected and cared for so well. Hill House is extremely well managed and there has been an ongoing programme of ‘home improvements’ during the time Mum has been a resident, all of which have kept the home fresh and updated. We will always be grateful for what the team at Hill House have done for Mum and us as a family and so I would not hesitate to recommend it.
