What if your cooking wasn’t just about preparing meals… but about creating moments that truly matter?
At Peninsula Care Homes, we believe moving into care shouldn’t mean leaving life behind. The comforts, routines and small pleasures that make life feel rich should still be part of every day.
And many of those moments begin in the kitchen. A rich life isn’t measured in recipes followed or plates served. It’s measured in the smell of a favourite meal cooking. A pudding that brings back memories. The comfort of sitting down with friends to eat something familiar. The warmth of a cup of tea shared over conversation.
As a Cook at Plymbridge House, your food helps create those moments.
You’ll plan and prepare delicious, home-style meals that are tailored to individual tastes and dietary needs. Some residents love traditional favourites. Others need softer textures or special diets. Your skill, creativity and care help make sure everyone can enjoy meals that feel comforting and familiar.
Some days will bring a little kitchen chaos – multiple diets, last-minute requests, and the challenge of perfect timing. But even on the busiest days, the rewards are undeniable.
Because when someone smiles at a meal you’ve prepared, asks for seconds, or tells you it reminds them of home – you know you’ve done something special.
We call it our Rich Life Framework. It’s our promise that moving into care should never mean leaving life behind. Everyone who lives with us deserves days that still feel familiar, meaningful and full of the things they enjoy.
Sometimes that’s gardening or music. Sometimes it’s simply a meal cooked just the way they like it. Your cooking helps make those moments possible.
You’ll keep the kitchen organised and running smoothly, working closely with care teams to ensure every resident receives the meals they need and the foods they love.
And you’ll bring your personality, warmth and humour into the heart of the home - because the best kitchens are full of life.
At the end of each shift, we encourage our team to ask one simple question: “Did I help someone live their rich life today?” If that question matters to you, you’ll belong here.
Our CARE values – Committed, Ambitious, Responsible and Embracing – guide how we treat residents, families and each other. You’ll be part of a supportive team that works hard, laughs together and takes pride in making a real difference.
