Job summary

Working Saturday 7.45am- 21.00pm & Sunday 7.45am-15.00pm every other weekend 

This job offers a role that is professional yet relaxed working in a small friendly home set in lovely grounds with a focus on getting in the garden in the summer and cozying up in the winter. Relationship centred care is provided to promote individual care that is of value to the resident.

The primary duty as a weekend carer is to provide physical, practical, and emotional support to individuals who are elderly, or living with disabilities. The goal is to help them live safely, comfortably, independently in the comfort of our residential care home for a relaxed ( but not boring) weekend. 

CARER DUTIES: 

 Personal Care and Hygiene

  • Washing and Bathing: Assisting with showering, bathing, and grooming
  • Dressing: Helping residents get dressed and undressed.
  • Toileting: Assisting with using the toilet, changing incontinence pads

Medication and Health Support

  • Medication Management: Reminding residents to take their medication, administering medication as per a prescribed care plan
  • Mobility Support: Helping residents with all transfer, in/out of bed, move around the house, or use mobility aids /zimmer
  • Meal Preparation: Serving meals and supporting with meal times if a resident requires help with eating and drinknig
  • Housework: Managing light household duties, including laundry, washing dishes

 Emotional Support and Companionship- Socializing: Spending time talking, listening, and taking part in activity of resident choice

Record Keeping: Updating daily care notes to communicate with care team, management and families . Use of the digital Person Centered Software ( PCS) digital handset

Reporting: Notifying senior staff or managers of any significant changes in the residents physical or mental health

Safeguarding: Protecting clients from harm, abuse, or injury and following established safety procedures

As the weekend , the role is dual functional and includes making lunch and tea. You will be joining an experiened carer who can cook, so do not worry if this is not a strength. Team work is key.
