Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with care plans
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
  • Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to senior management or healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and paper records as required
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues through effective communication skills
  • Support the organisation of activities and social engagement programmes tailored to residents’ needs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to staffing rotas, training schedules, and other operational duties

Skills

  • Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting or senior care environment
  • Administration of medications
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
  • Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
  • Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards in senior care
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
