What will you be doing?
Your mains responsibilities will be:
• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and established standards.
• Prepare and cook a well-balanced, nutritious, and tasty diet.
• Provide for our residents’ preferences and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean environment in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
• Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and care team to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies.
• Help in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills / Qualifications:
- • Previous experience as a Cook or similar role in a food service establishment is desirable.
- • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
- • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation.
- • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- • A passion for cooking and baking creating delicious meals
