About the role
We are looking for a warm, creative and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our care home team.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with older people and is passionate about improving quality of life through meaningful engagement, companionship and fun. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of activities that supports the emotional, social and physical wellbeing of our residents.
The right person will be energetic, caring and organised, with the confidence to build positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues. Every day is different, and we are looking for someone who can bring ideas, kindness and energy into our home.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities
- Organise meaningful activities based on residents’ interests, hobbies and abilities
- Encourage residents to take part in activities that promote wellbeing and social interaction
- Adapt activities to support residents living with dementia and other care needs
- Celebrate seasonal events, birthdays and special occasions
- Arrange entertainment, community visits and external activity providers where appropriate
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families
- Keep accurate records of activities and resident engagement
- Work closely with the care team to ensure activities are person-centred and inclusive
What we are looking for

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in working with older people
- The ability to motivate and encourage residents to participate
- Creativity and confidence in leading activities
- Good organisational skills and the ability to use your own initiative
- Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
- Experience in care, dementia support, hospitality, childcare, community work or customer-facing roles would be an advantage
