What if your role in the kitchen wasn’t just about food… but about helping create moments that truly matter?

At Peninsula Care Homes, we believe moving into care shouldn’t mean leaving life behind. The comforts, routines and small pleasures that make life feel rich should still be part of every day.

And many of those moments begin in the kitchen. A rich life isn’t measured in recipes followed or plates served. It’s measured in the smell of a pudding that brings back memories. The comfort of sitting down with friends to eat something familiar. The warmth of a cup of tea shared over conversation.

As a Catering Assistant at Plymbridge House, you play an important part in creating those experiences. Working alongside our external catering provider, you’ll help ensure meals are prepared, presented and served with care, attention and warmth. Your support helps make sure that every resident receives food that feels comforting, familiar and enjoyable.

You’ll assist with preparing light meals, drinks and home baking, serving food to residents, and keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, safe and welcoming. Extensive catering experience is not important, but caring about the food you serve is.

Some days will be busy, with trays to prepare, kitchens to maintain and requests to respond to. But even on the busiest days, the rewards are clear.

Because when someone enjoys their meal, smiles over a familiar taste, or simply feels cared for - you know you’ve made a difference.

We call it our Rich Life Framework. It’s our promise that living in our homes should always feel meaningful, enjoyable and full of everyday moments that matter.

Your role helps bring those moments to life - through care, attention and a genuine interest in the food you serve.

At the end of each shift, we encourage our team to ask one simple question: “Did I help someone live their rich life today?” If that question matters to you, you’ll belong here.

Our CARE values – Committed, Ambitious, Responsible and Embracing – guide how we treat residents, families and each other. You’ll be part of a supportive team that works hard, laughs together and takes pride in making a real difference.
