At Ty Coch Nursing Home, the kitchen is at the heart of everything we do. Mealtimes are more than just food — they are moments our residents genuinely look forward to, bringing comfort, familiarity and a real sense of belonging to their day.

We are looking for an experienced Chef who takes pride in creating fresh, home-style meals that reflect each resident's personal preferences, cultural background and dietary needs. If you have a genuine passion for cooking and care about the people you cook for, we would love to hear from you.

What the role involves

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, home-cooked style meals for residents
• Supporting a range of dietary needs including soft diets, diabetic, allergy and cultural preferences
• Adapting traditional dishes (such as shepherd's pie and other classics) to meet individual needs
• Ensuring meals are well-presented and served on time
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
• Supporting stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Working as part of a supportive kitchen and care team

What we are looking for

• Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
• Ability to prepare simple, nutritious, home-style meals to a good standard
• Understanding of basic nutrition and specialist dietary requirements
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (or willingness to work towards it)
• Reliable, flexible and a strong team player
• Genuine passion for cooking and supporting older people
• Understanding of the importance of comfort food and familiar meals in a care setting
