St Peters Court Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Nurse (RGN) to join our leadership team.

The Role

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership and operational support across the service, ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and person-centred care at all times.

You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with CQC standards, supporting the nursing and care teams, and driving continuous improvements throughout the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day management of the service.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop nursing and care teams.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Oversee admissions, assessments, care planning, and clinical reviews.
  • Lead clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage medication systems, audits, and monthly medication cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, MCA, and DoLS legislation.
  • Support investigations, incident management, and risk assessments.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, community teams, and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide mentorship, supervision, and clinical guidance to staff.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager when required.

Essential Clinical Skills

The successful candidate should be confident and competent in:

  • Suprapubic catheter care
  • Male and female catheterisation
  • Syringe driver management
  • PEG and RIG feeding
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Venepuncture and blood sampling
  • Verification of Expected Death (VOED)

About YouEssential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC PIN.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, or senior nursing leadership role within the UK.
  • Experience working within a nursing home or complex care environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical governance.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, MCA, and DoLS.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding resident care.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting CQC inspections.
  • Previous experience in a Clinical Lead or Deputy Manager role.
  • Experience working with residents with complex nursing needs.
