About the Role
Angelic Care Resourcing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RGN) to join the clinical team at St Peter’s Court Nursing Home in Maldon.
This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care and confident supporting the Home Manager and senior clinical team with both clinical oversight and day-to-day operational support.
You will provide shift leadership to the nursing and care team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to residents. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop your clinical leadership skills and progress into a senior clinical leadership role within the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager and senior team with the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing home
- Provide leadership and supervision to nursing and care staff during shifts
- Deliver and oversee safe, effective, person-centred nursing care
- Carry out resident assessments and develop, review, and update care plans
- Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and clinical reviews
- Administer and oversee medication management and monthly medication cycles
- Conduct and support clinical audits and quality assurance processes
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively with GPs, community nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to care staff
- Deputise for senior nursing staff when required
Safeguarding & Governance
While this role will not be solely responsible for managing safeguarding investigations, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of adult safeguarding procedures
- Ability to identify safeguarding concerns and raise alerts appropriately
- Knowledge of responding to safeguarding enquiries and cooperating with investigations
- Understanding of regulatory expectations from the
- Care Quality Commission
- Ability to liaise professionally with regulatory bodies when required.
Essential Clinical Skills - Candidates must be confident and competent in:
- Suprapubic catheter care
- Male and female catheterisation
- Syringe driver management
- PEG / RIG feeding
- Oxygen therapy
- Venepuncture and blood sampling
- Verification of death
- Medication administration and management
Clinical assessment and monitoring of residents -Clinical Knowledge Required
- Care planning and risk assessments
- Dementia care and best practice approaches
- Medication management and MAR systems
- Clinical audits and quality improvement processes
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and DoLS procedures
- Infection prevention and control standards
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification (RGN)
- Valid NMC registration (PIN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification nursing experience in the UK
- Experience in nursing homes, elderly care, or dementia care settings
- Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, resident-focused approach to care
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Shift Pattern
- 3 shifts per week (37.5 hours)
- Day Shift: 07:00 – 19:30
- Night Shift: 19:00 – 07:30
- Additional shifts available if desired
