At Fordingbridge Nursing Home, part of the Allegra Care Group, we do things differently.
We follow a household model of care – creating a warm, family-style home where residents feel safe, respected and truly at ease. It’s not just about care tasks; it’s about connection, dignity and helping people live a meaningful life, every single day.
We’re proud of our reputation for delivering high-quality nursing care in a safe and welcoming environment. With a loyal, friendly team, freshly prepared meals from our chef, engaging activities and a real home-from-home feel, Blossom Fields is a place where residents – and staff – can thrive.
We are looking for warm, compassionate Healthcare Assistants (Care Companions) to join our beautiful Fordingbridge care home in Hampshire.
Working nights, including alternate weekends, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our residents to live comfortably, safely, and with dignity—delivering care that is truly person-centred.
Whether you're experienced or just starting your career in care, we provide full training, ongoing development, and a supportive team environment to help you thrive.
About the Role
As a Care Companion, you’ll work closely with our Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care and companionship.
You will support residents with:

- Emotional and social wellbeing
- Daily activities, hobbies, and wellbeing programmes
- Nutrition and hydration support
- Maintaining accurate care records and reporting changes to nurses
- Skin care and pressure area support
- Communication with families, friends, and healthcare professionals
You’ll also have opportunities to mentor new team members and grow your own skills.
What We’re Looking For
- A kind, positive, and respectful approach
- Strong communication skills
- A genuine passion for caring for others
- Flexibility to work alternate weekends
- Availability for 1–3 night shifts per week (12 hours)
Care experience is desirable but not essential—we’ll support you every step of the way.
What We Offer
- £13.20 per hour + enhanced bank holiday pay
- Paid breaks
- Free meals on shift
- Free uniform
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- Recognition & rewards programme
- Workplace pension scheme
- Career progression opportunities
- Flexible working options
Why Join Allega Care?
