Eden Court is a deluxe Retirement Village, located in Battersea SW11, boasting 28 luxury independent apartments and a 73 bedded nursing, residential and dementia care home.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Senior Nurse (RGN) to be part of our care team looking after our residential nursing and dementia residents.
The Senior Nurse will report into the Village Manager and will be primarily responsible for promoting and delivering person-centered care with the Cinnamon care philosophy. The nurse will work within a team ethos with the resident’s choices, dignity, independence, and personal safety is at the core of all clinical activity. Working always within their professional accountability and competences for their professional registration.
This is a full-time position with 2 supernumerary days per week.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for residents with nursing needs.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation are accurate, person-centred and reviewed in line with Cinnamon policy.
- Complete pre-admission assessments for prospective residents and support safe admission decisions and support regular review process such as resident of the day and care review meeting. This may include applications for FNC and CHC.
- Act as a visible, approachable senior clinical presence for residents, relatives and team members.
- Support medicines governance, including audits, competencies, ordering and booking-in processes.
- Support the home with tasks to improve internal quality and governance such as observation, audits and assessments.
- Support, coach and assess nurses, senior carers and care team members within agreed competencies.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, community nurses, safeguarding teams, mental health services, hospitals and other external professionals.
- Support safeguarding and other external referrals, DoLS/authorisation requests and clinical escalation processes alongside the Care Services Manager.
- Provide clinical support in the absence of the Care Services Manager.
- Participate in weekend on-call arrangements, including some on-site cover where required.
- Any other reasonable tasks instructed by the management team.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN
- Experience in older people’s nursing, ideally within a care home setting
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring others
- Confident in medicines management and clinical governance
- Calm and effective in clinical emergencies
- Good written communication and digital care planning skills
- Professional, compassionate and resident-focused approach
