The home
Merse House is a 32 bed care home based in Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland, providing specialist residential care to older people and people living with dementia. Overlooking the River Dee it is close to many areas of outstanding beauty.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages.
· Serve food and drinks to residents in dining rooms or designated areas.
· Support the chef or cook in meal presentation and portion control.
· Help prepare special diets as directed, including texture-modified meals and therapeutic diets.
· Ensure meals are served in a timely and professional manner.
· Kitchen and Dining Area Duties
· Set up and clear dining areas before and after meal service.
· Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
· Clean kitchen work surfaces, dining areas, and food preparation areas.
· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and dining facilities.
· Ensure food is stored, labelled, and rotated correctly.
