Job summary
Lilleybrook Care Home is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a full time basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food preparation. The successful candidate will support the Cook and wider kitchen team with the preparation, serving, and clearing away of meals for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Meal Service
Assist the Cook with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals.
Support the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared safely and to a good standard.
Help ensure residents’ dietary needs and preferences are followed where required.
Assist with the smooth running of mealtimes within the home.
Cleaning and Hygiene
Wash up after meals and ensure crockery, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and stored correctly.
Carry out general cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining areas.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control.
Ensure kitchen equipment is kept clean, safe, and well maintained.
Health and Safety
Follow Health and Safety procedures within the kitchen and dining areas.
Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment, or potential hazards to the appropriate person.
Promote safe working practices at all times.
Follow the home’s Emergency and Fire procedures where required.
Training and Development
Attend mandatory training as required.
Maintain and develop professional knowledge and competence.
Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
General Duties
Help maintain the good reputation of Lilleybrook Care Home.
Treat all information gained during work as confidential.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive working environment.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
