Overall Experience
My late mum was a resident at lillybrook for nearly 8 years. The care she received was exceptional. My mum was treated with the upmost dignity all her care needs were met with the highest standards, even when thwy were busy. From the manager Kim, to the nurses Sam and Jo, carers, housekeepers and catering they all played a massive and important role in caring for my mum.

They became like family and right up to my mum passing away they showed compassion, empathy and support.

My mum - Heather, moved into residential care at the beginning of July 2025.
She has settled well into the home and the care has been faultless since.
When I visit, all the staff are friendly and take time to say hello etc.
Mum appears to be being well looked after and appears happy etc.
She sits happily in the communal area when I visit.
Her room is always clean and tidy, cloths washed and looked after.

The maintenance team put up pictures and display frames - they completed a good job abc made mums room more homely.

Reply from Oquin Dundas, Administrator at Lilleybrook Care Home

Thank you, Michael, for your great feedback. We are delighted that Heather has settled so well and that you are happy with the care, environment, and support provided.

Living in New Zealand it is hard when a parent has to go into care in UK. Before during and after my visit to spend time with my mother I can only say all the staff have been amazing, with a special mention to the events team who have done everything to help keep me in touch and went above and beyond for mums 80th birthday. I feel fully informed of my mother's situation and am confident of the care she receives. While the furniture and decor could do with updating the home is clean and safe, which is the key. Would be a 5 star review if the social page had been maintained. This was a fantastic medium for communicating with family what our loved ones were up to and I would love to see it reinstated if possible

Myself and my husband returned from holiday on 29th June 2025 to find an ambulance outside the carehome . Not thinking it could be anything to do with my mum . On entering the final door on mums floor we noticed a lot going on and a carer rushing around. when she saw us I could see panic in her eyes she turned back around and headed back towards my mums room. we went through with her into my mums room after Sam the nurse said let them in , we went in and my mum was not in a good way. a paramedic was there with the nurse and a carer . they were amazing keeping us calm and doing what they had to do. they rang and a 1st response came, the nurse was going over and above doing her job with what she had to do as well as looking after us . then another ambulance came , did what they had to do and took her to hospital where they looked after her x but I can not say how impressed I was with the nurse and the carer they were amazing and so professional . we could not ask for better care for my mum

My 98-year-old mum has been a resident of the Lilleybrook for 6 years. Over the years we have seen many changes in staff and management. We can honestly say that the current Manager has improved the care home greatly. Any problems and queries are addressed immediately and taken care of. The carers are wonderful and genuinely care for and about the residents. The nurses are involved, sincere, and on hand at any time. Leisure activities have improved with the current co-ordinators who are brilliant in engaging residents daily in some activity to enhance their otherwise lonely days.
We need to mention the kitchen, cleaning staff and maintenance staff who together help to ensure the facilities are of a very good standard.

We know Mum is happy here and the lovely staff and management have made her feel she is part of a big family, which is comforting for us. We enjoy visiting and are welcome any time of day or night.

Lilleybrook Care Home provided excellent care to our Dad/Bamp throughout his time there. They treated him with such dignity, respect and compassion and made him comfortable in his last few days. The staff are such a credit, showing empathy and care to the family too. Special thanks to one staff member in particular who went above and beyond. We can't thank the home enough for the care provided and would highly recommend (especially after experiences at other local care homes).

Mother has been in residential care for several years, she has good care, all the staff are kind and very caring. The nursing staff are excellent, they make contact at all times, when needed to update the family. There are very good activities, which my mum enjoys. As a family we are hugely grateful to all the staff at Lilleybrook, we feel our mother is in safe hands and being well cared for.

I have nothing but praise for the caring staff and manager at Lilleybrook Care Home. Everyone was understanding of her needs always positive but real in the circumstances and took time to spend with my aunt in spite of busy schedules. The staff were amazing and are caring heroes for the difficult job they do.

Overall Experience

The latest care home manager is working hard to improve things at this home which has been less than satisfactory since my mother-in-law entered the home in February 2020. Most of the regular long-term staff are very good but retaining staff seems to be an issue and there is heavy reliance on agency staff who are unfamiliar with the home and the residents. There have been a number of issues which when brought to the attention of the new manager have been addressed. However, the cleanliness of rooms remains an issue.

My mother has been a resident for two years. In that time several managers have come and not stayed long. The new manager now called a meeting for relatives, it was a positive experience and I think she is a person who will get things done. I emailed her and got a reply within an hour. All the staff are caring and I have peace of mind that my mother is in the right place.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Lillybrook for the care and attention they gave to my sister in her final weeks. Anyone who knew her would know that she rarely minced her words so, In my sister's own words " l love it here they are so good to me, I'm spoilt". I know that there was one of her carers that was a particular favourite of hers I hope she knows who she is. Again I cannot thank you enough for making what time she had left more bearable.

We often hear quite negative things about care homes but my personal experience of this care home was very positive for myself and my family. Thank you

From what I have seen, I can wholeheartedly say the care the staff and home gave to my Grandma care and compassion. She wasn't in the home for long, but the care staff definitely did try their very best and went above and beyond to make her comfortable in her final hours. As a family can't thank all the staff enough.

Thank you.

So glad we were able to get a place in The Grange for our sister. Since she became a permanent resident, the care, both for her and us, when visiting received has been excellent.
The staff have always been very caring and have always been fast to react whenever a request was made.

Well done to The Grange Care Center, and thank you for everything.

The most friendly care home I have visited. The standards and facilities are excellent, and I don't say that lightly. I have visited many care homes and this tops the lot. Urgent, short notice care was needed for my neighbour and The Grange Care Centre came up trumps. The manager was so amenable, nothing was too much trouble. Care was arranged at very short notice with very little fuss. Ongoing care is also good. Ten stars would not be enough!

My Father who suffered severe dementia was a resident for over 3 years, passing away at the end of June.
He was looked after by a dedicated team of carers with kindness and dignity. They have been a great source of understanding and support to me as well as Dad.
Carers do not get enough credit and you should be extremely proud of your Team.
